I also note that FK are continuing to do the Sunday Pendeen leg of the A17 which was due to go to TfC.

I would actually hope it's been scrapped altogether. Just doesn't seem like a good use of funds which are supposed to reduce the cost of fares, not eliminate them altogether.

The purple fronted ones just look plain drab.

Free Cornish Bus Travel June to August

Quite possibly! The whole thing was is nuts anyway and hopefully CC will be able to thrash out something sensible with the operators later in the year in respect of its low fares funding grant.

Hopefully it'll look better once it receives its vinyls.

Perhaps sanity has prevailed and the DfT have decided that the grant doesn't now have to start being used by the end of May.

New timetables from Monday are now online under the "forthcoming" tab. Basically winter services minus evenings. With TfC running a full summer service including evenings it's a bit of an uncoordinated mess.

    Go Cornwall Bus

CC will have had prices for operating evening services on eg the A17 and M6 because PCB originally registered them. I just don't see the sense in the situation. Either there should be general evening services across Cornwall or not. We've got this weird inbetween situation now seemingly...

    Go Cornwall Bus

FK timetables now online. Basically FK appear to be operating a winter service without any evening journeys from Monday, therefore there's a complete lack of coordination between the commercial and supported networks. This means that while Paul and Pendeen have evening services, St Ives and...

The timetables from this weekend are now on the TfC website. I haven't had a detailed look but it looks like the full summer timetables as previously planned. If FK don't increase their services to broadly summer levels there are going to be some glaring gaps. I guess we will find out very soon.

I wouldn't be surprised if a condition of the grant was to start using it by the end of May, with no flexibility to take into account the current situation. However, it's how it's being used that's astounding to me.

    Class 350/1 refurbishment

How come SWR blue poles wouldn't meet the PRM regs when GA pale grey poles against a pale grey background do? PRM regs state that poles must sufficiently contrast with the immediate adjacent surfaces. It doesn't matter what colour they are.

The wording suggests that it's not only First Kernow that has a choice whether to sign up, but also the TfC participating operators rather than being in the scheme by default. I guess it resolves the query about whether the TfC contract is net or gross cost.

So I wonder if FK will sign up to it. I doubt if CC cares either way. Seems that their idea of an integrated bus network excludes anything not operated by TfC.
