    I don't know about if it's ever been considered as a more permanent arrangement but I have seen road rail excavators hauling rail wagons at East Grinstead when the line was closed by a landslip

    they all need modifications for freight service, so my best guess is the first one won't be in service until July at the earliest, hopefully a few 86s might still be in service at the start of 2021.

    neither are with EMR at the moment, currently they're stored with hull trains awaiting transfer, unlike 110 and 111 which have transferred to EMR.

    a few days ago I was looking at the Realtime Trains page of my local station East Grinstead, when I noticed that the RHTT that serves the station in the winter, 3W90, was cancelled, meaning for some reason an RHTT path was activated in May, also it was exactly 1 hour before the scheduled...

    apparently it's a persistent problem with the northern unit, but i'm just going off what i've been told, not to mention the northern services are set to transfer to EMR in December.
