Tyne and Wear Metro: 4001, 4002, 4040 and 4083 Refurbishment

Yes, I'm on there now. 4002 has the white floor around the door area and doors painted white in the same way as 4040. Still original door buttons though on 4002.

TPE Nova 1 Class 802/2 Progress

802212 From York to Newcastle today. Acceleration very impressive on electric, particularly noticeable when leaving stations. I hope they are going to get the electronic reservations working soon as these are far better and clearer than paper. I'm guessing this issue is likely to continue until...

    LNER Azuma (Class 800/801)

Possibly a silly question but could an 801/1 and 800/2 pair up in service? Has this ever occurred? I wonder how this would perform on Diesel with a total of 4 engines (instead of 6 engines on 2x 800/2s).

Tyne and Wear Metro: 4001, 4002, 4040 and 4083 Refurbishment

I don't have all the details myself unfortunately, but no, they have not all been done yet. To the best of my knowledge, 4040 is still the only completed of these 4. I have not seen 4040 on the system for a few months which may suggest that none of the other 3 are available to work with it if...

Class 153 journeys on Settle Carlisle line

The 10:49 to Leeds via Settle from Carlisle this morning was a 150. (150220). Ive never seen a 150 on this service before, how often does this happen? The 13:40 service is a 158 + 153 so the 153's do sometimes still come to Carlisle.

    LNER HST Withdrawals

Thanks very much for that! Glad to hear that EMR sets are being stored there. 43310 is my favourite power car as I've had some great journeys with it including my first HST to Aberdeen and on the Chieftain too. Glad that it appears to have a future!

    Northern Class 142 sightings

Just had a quick look over this thread, is this Saturday definitely the last day for Pacers in the North East? What will be replacing them? (I know it will be 156s and 158s but what I am saying is, will it be 156 or 158 diagrams that increase to replace 142 diagrams) Any info on this would be...

Class 43 LNER Farewell Railtour Dec 2019

Had an email saying that there was a group cancellation meaning a few extra first class seats available. Email was sent 2 hours ago so am not sure how long they will be available before selling out again.

Class 43 LNER Farewell Railtour Dec 2019

Wonder which power cars will be on this tour as it won't be 43302 now that it has moved to EMR.
