This means as well as the Social Distancing drop off arrangements...

The 349 service is operated by Abus on behalf of First in a similar manner to HTC on the m1. Abus are paid a certain amount for each journey they operate. On a regular Monday to Friday timetable, the 11:05 and 12:35 departures from Bristol are operated by First using Marlborough Street drivers...

The tracker doesn’t seem to be working today, probably because of the timetable change as the RTIs in Weston were also not displaying. As well as the B7 Badgerline Geminis on 3s and 7s, there is also the Urban E400s to make up the numbers. At least one of the 178 boards is in the hands of 37628.

I hadn’t heard that one, but the gas bus was teated over the entire route and was successful. Traveline must be wrong. The X5 will work between Weston and Portishead on a 2 hr frequency. The service will interwork with another and will be a decker. All services where possible are being...

Correct, from Monday the 178 will be operated using deckers. I believe it was Wednesday a gas bus was used to test the route.

The T1 and Y1 are running because due to the reduced capacity of the buses, there was concerns outbound the buses would fill up with local passengers meaning customers for Thornbury or Yate would be unable to board. The T1 misses out the Gloucester Road where this may happen and the Y1 Fishponds...

The X5 has been registered temporarily until North Somerset Council come up with a permanent solution. It will run every 2 hours but only as far as Portishead. It will not serve Cribbs Causeway.

I seen one on a 3 earlier this morning. The loaned vehicles will be in Weston until services are enhanced. They have been brought out because of social distancing, the Streetlites can only carry 10 passengers, whereas a decker can carry 20.

    Stations with excursion platforms

Yes, the excursion platforms at Weston-super-Mare were known as Locking Road Station. Where these were is now Tesco and Locking Road Car and Coach Park. The remaining station is the station which opened in 1884. Consisting of 2 platforms, Platform 2 closest to the old Excursion Station, with...

    Strangest bus destination screens?

Well they did, you used to see it most nights in the bus station on a single decker which came in off of a Nailsea service and then went back to the depot dead. I have also seen it on one of the 349 deckers too.

I believe the site is owned by First. I believe when first built, First owned the plot next to the depot. This was so another depot a mirror of the existing one could be built in the future if required. This plan was subsequently dropped and the land sold. I think the desire at one point was...

Streetlites won’t cope with the traditional summer loadings on certain journeys. If they had wanted to use Streetlites permanently on the 126, they would’ve retained some of the Streetlite Maxs. I concur, but as well as a comfy seat I would vote for heating in the winter as well! It’s...

The vehicles are not allocated unfortunately based on personal preference of customer’s or drivers, they are allocated based on what is best for the service and the company. Yes some vinyls may yet to be added, this is done by an outside company. Perhaps they didn’t get to the depot to do them...

It was trialled in 2003 when new as it was a demo vehicle, for use on the X39 and was indeed found to be too long for the old Bus Station in Manvers Street. It can’t have been tried at the old bus station during it’s tenure at First WoE as this was closed in June 2007, with services moving to...

That one never quite fitted in when Weston had it. Due to the length it was used generally on the 7, X1/W1 or X5. I can remember seeing a picture of it on the Marine Parade stop in Weston with it’s windscreen on the road behind an E400. The driver opened the doors during a gale, the wind blew...
