I hope lessons will be learned from the COVID pandemic in that capacity is considered going forward. It’s always been lost on me that routes like the 2, 3 and 9 should really have been deckers from the start. These are routes which at one stage have had double deck stock on them but have been...

    First Aberdeen

I wonder if the plan is for 37638-44 to be cascaded to Glasgow like the ex-FSE B9TLs to help with LEZ. Are there still plans for some bendies to come up from down South? It would be interesting to see route branding on Aberdeen services but it makes sense just now for them to continue getting...

With reprints still underway during the pandemic are there any plans for any of the Aberdeen buses to receive branding? It’s important to get them all into the new livery I get that but have their been any plans to do this or will all buses just be in the Aberdeen green and white livery?

Anyone know what happened to the branded Streetlites from London? They were supposedly going to Scotstoun but seem to have just vanished. Are they being used during the reduced timetable?

I don’t know what First’s fascination was for having single deck stock on their core...

I imagine seeing the return of a lot of B7TLs. Perhaps some of the low height E400s might make their way to Lanarkshire to be on the safe side.

I always thought there was a low bridge which meant the 240 and 201 had to be singles?

    First Bus Introduce Social Distancing

I get express services obviously require deckers but I really wish they’d make better use of the 65 plate E400MMCs. These buses are for city driving and the fact that they’re on the 2 and 3 right now just proves that they’d be a suitable option for such busy routes rather than always being...

Is it still planned for the refurbed B9TLs to be converted to Euro 6?

Only Euro 5 & 6 out on the roads I believe

I must say it’s been so nice to see such new buses on the road doing wonders for the air. Definitely makes a change of from Euro 3 B7TLs roaring the streets with their loud fans. It would be nice if eventually Glasgow was overrun by newer stock rather than dated tat from the 00s.

Nice to see they’re getting on with repaints however it would be a good time to give the buses a good deep internal clean. Particularly the eclipses could be doing with a good tidy up as well as seat retrims for many buses including the low height E400s which are shocking inside.

I imagine the 2022 target will probably be pushed back thus delaying everything by a year. Although who knows if it’ll be longer depending on how things work out.

Public transport is going to change no matter what. People thinking we are going to come out of this and return to normality as we knew it are seriously deluded. There will be a new normal which will affect everything and in particular in this setting, public transport will suffer imo. Already...

They do though and have been for years. The 6 was mainly being made up from singles before this pandemic.

I wonder why they haven’t considered having a few low height E400s on the 34 especially during peak times. They seem to have favoured singles for so long. Especially given the E400s have strayed from the 6 quite regularly in recent years.

The X8 is busy especially at peak time it can fill a decker. It’s probably the quickest way to Silverburn so don’t see them cutting that. Also the 34A services the QEUH and that sees good numbers also so doubt they’ll touch that.

Seeing all of the newer stock out on the roads makes me hopeful for First Glasgow’s future. With LEZ coming in to play and this pandemic it just shows how important looking after the environment really is. I would like to see some changes to allocations (this is just my personal opinion). I...

The 39 was a bit of a whacky one. It started at Sandyhills before heading for Baillieston lights and on to Easterhouse, Cranhill and did a tour of the east end before making its way to town. Took about over an hour to get into town don’t see how that was helpful if you started from Sandyhills...
