    Statute barred penalty fare?

I would personally not respond to the letter. Then you cannot be accused of admitting a debt is owed. They are put of time for both civil (6 years since last contact) and criminal (6 months since date of incident) proceedings.

Super Off-Peak ticket denied at Euston on a Saturday (on a valid train)

LNW need to be compensating too here. I'd suggest Rail Travel Vouchers for £50 would be a starting point.

Split ticket - Connecting train delayed - Court action

The OP may wish to consider contacting their MP. What is the date of the hearing?

Got penalty fare notice because of using a screenshot of the ticket

If a penalty fare is withdrawn following non payment of it though and then TOC then looks taking the matter to Court, that has to be based on a valid ticket not being held/presented on the original date of travel - not for mere non payment of the penalty fare alone.

Got penalty fare notice because of using a screenshot of the ticket

If the screen shot was valid though - which I am not so sure if a screen shot is tbh - then it makes the PF issued invalid and the PF doesn't become valid just because the passenger doesn't appeal. I think the best thing to do here would be to establish if the screen shot that was shown was...

    Railcards and Covid19

Again, travel for non essential travel is against the law so it makes the railway unavailable for the leisure market. So we come full circle due to services not being available to the public at large, railcard validity needs to be extended accordingly.

LNER vouchers due to expire end of April: LNER refuse to extend them

What is the offer LNER sometimes have through AMEX exactly? If it possible to buy tickets for travel on any TOC with such vouchers?

How long are TPE currently taking to process refunds?

I received my latest TPE refund (notification of refund) 15 days from application. Money hit bank account a couple of days later.

    Railcards and Covid19

It is comparable because unless train travel is essential then it equates to a travel ban of a considerable length.

    Rail Travel Vouchers

Contact the train company who issued them I'd say at least month before they expire (or 2 to be on the safe side) and ask for them to reissue them if you send them back.

    Railcards and Covid19

The Railway needs to extent existing railcards or offer something like 18 months for the price of 12 or similar after the lockdown for renewals. National Express is extending customers coach cards https://www.nationalexpress.com/en/offers/coachcards

Continued fee free refunds if current restrictions are extended?

Thanks Joe, I understand where you're coming from now. Sorry for any misunderstanding.

Continued fee free refunds if current restrictions are extended?

As it happens Joe, you are wrong, I do not actually have any advance tickets booked for travel in the future. However, what I am advocating is the right and moral thing that should happen in terms of how customers should be treated.

Continued fee free refunds if current restrictions are extended?

If the government extends the restrictions then the TOCs will have no choice but to refund. This will be on the basis that on the date the customer booked, they booked for unrestricted dates. Failure to do this will really make the railway look very anti customer. Really depends on government...

Continued fee free refunds if current restrictions are extended?

I suspect this will have to change if government extend current restrictions beyond 13 April.

Continued fee free refunds if current restrictions are extended?

What about for tickets purchased after 23/03/20 and now for travel if the government chooses to extend lockdown beyond 13/04/20 Easter Monday?

Continued fee free refunds if current restrictions are extended?

Would it be fair to say that all TOCs/retailers will continue to offer fee free refunds if the government extends the current restrictions after Easter? I'm specifically thinking about travel that was only booked from the end of March onwards here too. Also, are there any retailers who's...

When are we expecting Avanti advance tickets to be on sale again?

Why? Are the fee free refunds on advances restricted only to those booked before COVID-19 became an issue? On the other hand it is arguable a customer should be refunded if they book now for a journey after the current restrictions are due to end, if the government chooses to extend the length...

When are we expecting Avanti advance tickets to be on sale again?

If he books advances now though for later this month and decides not to travel, are TOCs still going to be as generous on giving refunds?
