    Great Northern 313 Withdrawals

There's a pair in the southernmost roads in Hornsey, one is 044 but i couldn't see the other unit, defo ones for disposal as it looks torn apart inside.

I wish I read this before I set off from Stevenage this morning, little did I know until I was relieved by a passing driver that the PIS still had Not In Service displayed but was still announcing stations.

Abellio Greater Anglia Class 755s (Regional Trains)

Not bad, these must be the quickest accepted new unit yet! The 710s have only seen passenger service only a few weeks ago, Bombardier should hang their heads in shame. Now for the 745s approval.

GA Trainee Depot Driver Interview Questions

Having had an interview for this role at GA, I can tell you that it's totally random questions thrown in, plus a little role play; interviewer 1 (depot driver supervisor) "hi vis vests must be zipped up at all times, you see me and tell me this but I dismiss you as you're a newbie, what do you...

Or ECS, in particular 5E61 and 5E65 which both get slowed down by the stoppers in front of it <( I've had the pleasure of going on the fast quite a few times actually, most recently turned on the fast at Ally Pally then back to the slow at Potters Bar, then from WGC to Letchworth (in service to...

Don't tempt fate! I said that the other week after having done the 717 course, I had decent units but then I was nights so they perform better until the other week I had absolute I wonder which carriage workings are switching over next week. No I cba to look as I'm lazy:E

Surprised they are changing that one to 717 so soon seen as it spends 5 hours in Hornsey idle during the day, having worked both morning and evening diagrams of that working, the evening peak is so overloaded it overloads the motors. I'd have strengthened it to 6 car 313.

Only for the 700s as it's Siemens who does the reporting, Hornsey fitters are in charge of the 717 maintenance. Only time we can get to 85mph is when going north of WGC but hopefully with a higher top speed, signallers can let ECS from WGC to Hornsey on the fast...... To the people saying the...

40% don't seem to work as a step 1, I'm usually between 40-60% just to get that gradual stop. 700, what's that now? :E

It's best for drivers to keep the same braking points at least until they are well used to them, I try to come in the platforms at 23-25mph for 6 car platforms and 30mph for 8 car platforms. I was taught to brake from early in step 1 but it's hard to gauge what's step 1 in a stepless brake...

Did you get the big thick brief in your pigeon hole? Not read it yet cos it's massive and I'm not reading all that whilst not at work. For anyone working 717 diagrams, we'll have plenty of questions to ask our "buddie" on our first trip (hopefully will be a manager or T&C driver!)
