    Fastest double decker?

The rules on seatbelts don’t to apply to vehicles that can have standing passengers. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/seat-belts-in-minibuses-coaches-and-other-buses/seat-belts-in-minibuses-coaches-and-other-buses

    Fastest double decker?

No such rule but anything with a powered speed exceeding 60 mph must be fitted with seatbelts. (Trains excepted haha)

    Fastest double decker?

Generally speaking buses have been artificially restricted in power due to emissions etc I agree but there are some good examples usually on interurban services that are very fast like the X1 from Great Yarmouth to Peterborough. Coaches are certainly more powerful than those in the 70s and 80s.

The thing I don’t understand is a modern bus/coach generally has more power and they are faster up hills etc

    HST fuel consumption

there was meant to be a laughy face at the end of my last post but it failed now a 172 would probably get closer to that figure despite only being slightly more powerful.

    HST fuel consumption

Sorry I highly doubt that a 170 can reach 100 mph in 4.5 minutes

    HST fuel consumption

Class 170s have got to be the slowest accelerating ‘modern’ British DMU constructed. Despite their engine output of 422 bhp per vehicle. They take about 114 seconds to reach 60 mph a figure a good pacer can almost match. A 2+8 hst is far quicker never mind these shortened 2+4 rockets.

    Suggestions for qualified driver relocating

I don’t know why so many Southeastern drivers have a thing against high speed. I’m assuming 43066 you’re an ex SET driver yourself. Faversham’s main line work isn’t the best either.

    Merseyrail Class 777

I think electric trains tend to be quite reliable compared to diesel trains (or buses) which have more moving parts to go wrong (in theory).

    Who's the best?

For me it would be a combination of newest buses / routes and distance from home to depot. But I don’t like stopping every 2 seconds so it would be national express for me out of Gateshead (I think)
