    Bright Bus Airport Express service

The choice of what to use was limited given the LEZ. The E300s that they chose to use were converted to be Euro 6 back in the First days. We will have to see what McGill's do eventually. Yes there are always cascades likely given electric buses but there is always a possibility that they may...

    Kevin's Coaches 1

Not seen anything myself, probably a commercial school run given school bus cuts going on with North Lanarkshire Council, registered to take fares (and subsequently the under-22 bus passes). McNairn's have done similar in Coatbridge.

    McGill’s Midland Bluebird

At least they got some new liveries out of him. Just need to see how long will they keep using them for before they change stuff up again. Still quite a lot of repaints in the queue for Midland.

Trivia: Bus operators with Ticketer ticket machines, but no barcode reader

Also being used by other companies including Transmach and Tixiom. Same hardware, just different software.

    McGill’s Midland Bluebird

To be fair the only difference between the X38 E200s and the other 19 plates are the length and charger ports. They could easily be moved onto other service work no problem.

    McGill’s Midland Bluebird

I had heard a few weeks ago from a driver that there were supposedly going to be electrics coming to Midland to replace some of the fleet. Will likely be Yutongs, not sure what routes though.

Second phase of Scottish Zero Emission Bus (ScotZEB) announced

    Transpora Group

Yes, it was Newport to Betws I think. Sorry about that.

    Transpora Group

I seem to recall their Neath service lasted about three months before throwing in the towel?

    Independent Operators in the Lothians

As and when required a coach is put on it, yes.

    McGill’s Midland Bluebird

Yes but they still have the other half left which a lot of them aren't too great either. The sooner the StreetLites are all gone the better. The X22 is only an hourly service, the 51 and 52 are more frequent, but we will see if McGill's do anything or let them pass by.

    McGill’s Midland Bluebird

Probably may be related to the few ex-Dundee E200MMCs that had a tendency to set themselves on fire. But could also be related to the whole West Lothian debacle too. Either way it's not like they'll get hit hard. McGill's inherited the mess from First, not the other way around. And they have...

    McGill’s Midland Bluebird

The resources could have been found...it's called dropping one of the Airport Express duties. Unless they have been doing so? Either way, it's finally over now.

    McGill’s Midland Bluebird

That paint shop is in use along with Greenock and Johnstone. The problem is there's far too many buses to paint up but also let's not forget how unreliable some of them are...do you really want to waste paint on all of the StreetLites when most of them are now lying in bits at the depots? They...

    Scottish Citylink

And now seem to be using random Solos from McNairns (the ones purchased from Dunns) as well. They bought another Optare (AA57 GHA I think) but it hasn't been seen on the road yet.

    Scottish Citylink

SPT issued an emergency tender and somehow Citylink of all companies managed to win it, with the service being operated by HH Coaches who usually just put on whatever service bus they had for the job, as opposed to a Citylink coach which would have been overkill. Stuarts Coaches are taking on...

    SPT Tendered Routes

Problem was they took on too much work thinking McGills drivers from Coatbridge would jump to another company quickly, plus I recall there was an issue with bus deliveries which led to them only getting them in November 2022. Compare that to PVT for example who slowly expanded with package...

    SPT Tendered Routes

Craigs of Cumbernauld are no longer running the 245/245A or 310 as of the end of this week - the new timetables are on the SPT website. ARG Travel will operate the 245/245A (Moodiesburn - Coatbridge) from Monday. https://www.spt.co.uk/media/ucheyh2b/service-245-june-2024.pdf Stagecoach West...

    Bright Bus Airport Express service

I would think the likelihood will be to increase the PVR rather than have double deckers, especially once Livingston are finished with the tendered work, to keep drivers employed where possible.
