Travelling from Greater Manchester to London

That's possibly no longer up-to-date and appears to be the old fare prior to the September 2024 revision of railcard discounts.

Travelling from Greater Manchester to London

Essentially yes as @Haywain has helpfully explained. You'll still need to be ticketed from Rochdale, of course, and the £72.55 (or £76.55) semi-flexible fare won't include the cost of the Metrolink across Manchester, if that's the way you do decide to do this bit.

Travelling from Greater Manchester to London

Off Peak Return from Rochdale to London Euston is £72.55 with railcard discount and you can travel with Avanti using that. Can't arrive into Euston before 1130 or return between 1501 and 1844 (Mon-Thurs) so maybe get a seat reservation on the 1853 back to Manchester Piccadilly. Also need to...

Aberdeen station/Dyce station to the airport; current situation?

Think there's an X27 service bus from the station round to the Airport terminal. Not used it myself but broadly it operates two or three times an hour. Can anyone confirm if it's still running?

@smsm1. Any eligibility here to 'Delay Repay"? (If so, who from?)

Aberdeen station/Dyce station to the airport; current situation?

It's possible to walk from Dyce railway station round to the Airport terminal at Aberdeen, but it's over two-and-a-half miles and will take up to an hour. Could always get a taxi between the two.

    Advanced timed single ticket

To "stay within the rules", you really need to travel.on your booked train between Clapham Junction and Angmering. There are barriers at Portslade and you don't have a ticket which is valid for breaking or resuming your journey there, this is why the ticket was so cheap, but it does come with...

145 years since the Tay Bridge Disaster

Are you sure? Believe Bouch was in his mid 50s as at the date of the Tay Bridge disaster which occurred on the evening of Sunday 28th December 1879. Bouch died in Moffat on Saturday 30th October 1880. And Queen Victoria had travelled over the bridge not all that long before the disaster, on...

Help London to Manchester Sunday 26th January

One other possibility might be London Marylebone->Leamington Spa (with Chiltern) and change there for an XC service onward to Manchester Piccadilly. Think I'm right in saying that there's nothing much running (if indeed anything) on the ECML out of London Kings Cross on Sunday 26th January...

    Manchester Metrolink (Non speculative discussion)

One or more trams due to be coming the other way, perhaps? Isn't Failsworth tram stop near to the point on the Metrolink system where inbound trams towards Victoria might have to wait to enter the single track section past Newton Heath & Moston tram stop?

Oxford United's Kassam Stadium is a fair old way from Oxford station. Maybe five miles, each way?

Have to go to Edinburgh on Saturday from Burscough - quickest route?

Could you get over to York by boarding (at Preston) the hourly direct Northern train from Blackpool North which runs via Blackburn, Hebden Bridge and Leeds? Might need split tickets depending on which Burscough station is used to start from.
