I've used a day return for a journey of over 200 miles before now. I won't say where as it's a good value ticket I'd rather not draw too much attention to. It's not a routing guide loophole or anything, it's a proper point to point ticket.

I got told years ago that the "other" side (ie. The side that isn't being shown to the conductor/driver/other dispatcher) was black as opposed to any other colour as it doesn't reflect light. Is there any truth in that or something someone just made up!
