No trains to call at Altnabreac for the foreseeable future

According to our dynamic duo the former platform forms part of their garden.

No trains to call at Altnabreac for the foreseeable future

The grand total of £300 in 1969 or so I believe.

No trains to call at Altnabreac for the foreseeable future

Only two changes: London & Inverness. You could leave Kent after 19:00 and be at Altnabreac before 14:00 the following day. Bring your own lunch.

UNPAID FARE NOTICE (despite being told to board the train by ticket office staff)

It's not a fine per se. Rather an invoice for the fare due. Can you show us exactly what ticket you held including price - upload a photo if possible. We can then advise fully.

    Crosscountry fine

Generally, payment of the difference in fare would have to be paid there and then.

Penalty fare letter but was never told or given documentation at the time (second appeal)

As an aside: are penalty fares issued through the same system that prints normal tickets? Just to clarify, I'm trying to understand how a printer fault precludes the issuing of a penalty fare but allows a normal ticket to be printed.

Buying ticket after boarding but before scheduled departure time.

I regularly try to check tickets, wherever practicable, prior to departure. I then only have to find the late boarders before the next stop.

Printing Tickets at Rock Ferry - Mersey Rail

It also happens in reverse. I had a London Geezer giving it large, using the local patois, that his train fare in Scotland was twice as expensive as in the Metropolis, innit? I worked out he was comparing a 19 mile trip in Scotland on a semi fast service to a 6 mile inner London stopper. The...

Need Urgent Help – Unfair Fare Evasion Charge as a Disabled Passenger

I assume that you know where the card is? If so, does anyone have access to that location, and can that person obtain your railcard? If such a person exists they can upload the relevant proof on your behalf. In addition to that try to find proof of purchase of your railcard - then supply that...

    Court Summons in April

    Very true.

Printing Tickets at Rock Ferry - Mersey Rail

I suppose that just proves that the clerk is available at the time of the call - not that he was available at the time the passenger attempted to purchase/pick up the ticket? Conversely, no answer could mean that the clerk is too busy selling tickets to pick up the phone.

SWR £1489 Fine for Expired Railcard – Seeking Advice

I could be muddling things up here, but one reason for asking you to provide your proof of any railcards held (even though they have already checked) is to give you the opportunity to fill out any gaps that they found in your railcard validity. For example if you had purchased in cash a one year...

    Court Summons in April

Could the £60 be some sort of excess? It's not unheard of for conductors to offer to "excess" away irregularities - even when the rules may not strictly allow it.

UWC (User Worked Crossings) - Ownership

    As I suspected. Thanks.

UWC (User Worked Crossings) - Ownership

Who owns the rail track at UWCs where the land on both sides is owned by the same landowner? Can that landowner be charged with trespass if they remain on the track at "their" crossing?

    Trainpal not showing Railcard

The official policy is a new ticket is to be sold, or a penalty fare, or a report taken. However, under the train operators railcard amnesty policy, it may well be possible to obtain a refund on any new tickets purchased, or cancellation of any penalty fare and/or report. Failing that, you...

    ScotRail recruiting more revenue staff

Most sensible folk would just walk up the hill to Helensburgh Upper. It's not far & has stunning views over to the Inverclyde Riviera (you just have to stop for a bit & turn round). I recently forced my Mother to do the walk. At 81 she needs a bit of encouragement - that said she's still not...

    ScotRail recruiting more revenue staff

That is something I've never understood. Possibly a funding issue - as SPT only pay the difference up to the off peak day fare.

    ScotRail recruiting more revenue staff

The Strathclyde scheme is quite simple in regards to boundaries. Only within the area of the former Strathclyde Regional Council. It's now getting simpler in regards to fares: 50% discount on the Anytime fare (albeit only valid at "off peak" times).
