Using 16-17 railcard instead of 16-25

They presumably have no evidence that you have travelled using the tickets you have purchased. You may therefore not want to respond. I would hope you could have worked that one out. Selecting the correct railcard would be advisable - and maybe buying your tickets from a different retailer.

Prosecution by GTR - how to avoid court case?

Lose the excuse that you were unaware of the railcard expiring and that this isn't your fault. Railcards existed long before emails existed and yet we still knew they expired. When you bought the Railcard you knew it lasted for one year. and of course it was you who gave that email address...

Debt collection & prosecution unit letter

I struggle to understand that someone can believe that you don't need some kind of "Railcard" to take advantage of the Railcard prices. It's even less credible that you believed you could still select the 16-17 Railcard option when you were 18. The Train Operating Company may equally be...

Military rail card court fine? Advice

With an incident date of 18th October 2024 (if correct), I would be surprised if it had gone all the way through to a conviction yet.

Re-appealing Penalty Fare imposed (and first appeal turned down) after ticket barrier "ate" valid ticket

I don't understand why the gateline staff didn't simply open up the gate to check if there was a weekly ticket in there and also why the ticket office staff didn't also suggest that when the OP and his mum went to the ticket office soon after being issued with the penalty fare.

Fined for buying ticket on train

I'm interested to know who the TOC and the court think has been prosecuted? Whose name is the Collection Order in? The only correct information given at the time of the offence was the OP's first name (albeit there was a recent link to the address given). How has the TOC/court linked the...

WMM - Notice of Intention to prosecute- Digital Fraud Team

Have you any evidence that this has ever occurred in a similar situation and what evidence would they use showing that the tickets had been used by someone who didn't have a valid railcard?

    Notice of Intention to prosecute

Hardly an "error" if you buy a ticket which covers no part of your journey and is in a different direction. Unless you mean a "serious error of judgement". To me being more diligent comes across as trying harder to buy the right ticket. "Taught me not to evade fares" is hopefully what you...

    It wasn’t me! Penalty fine

I would suggest that the OP has been fined (and found guilty) in their absence. That is why they need to do the statutory declaration.

Do they? Six months from the 14th June 2024 is the 14th Dec 2024.

Advice with Travel Incident Report because of expired Railcard

I suspect that the problem is that you have stayed in the UK for more than a year - which is how the railcard expired (unless you bought it before you arrived). There are many similar threads on this forum and no reason why you won't be able to settle this with the Train Operating Company...

Advice on how to ensure there were no unknown prosecutions?

You can't do a DBS on yourself other than a Basic check so I'm not sure that would help. You'd be looking at a Subject Access Request.

    Greater Anglia Purchases

They are only going to be able to track your ticket purchasing if they have some common identifier. So if Greater Anglia have your email address, then they can ask ticket retailers to provide details of tickets purchased on an account which also has that email address. If they have your 16...

Can a rail company reopen a case that has already settled over 7 months ago

Next Monday as in the 16th November, not today? What are you wanting to achieve if you simply plan to plead guilty? You have already been found guilty.

Fare evasion and lied to the officer

To possibly allay your worries I reckon the following: Jail - 0% chance (that's definite) Fine and criminal record - 5 - 10% chance (that might be an over-estimate based on most threads on here) Fine (not technically one but in the sense of an out of court settlement payment so no criminal...

    Advice on prosecution (16-25 railcard)

Did that email give you an opportunity to upload an image of your valid railcard? If not, is there a missing communication from SWR (either not sent or not received) giving you an opportunity to evidence that you had a valid railcard at the time you were stopped?

Someone used my name and now im being taken to court

No need to use MS Print, you can use whichever PDF editor you have but just make sure you print as a PDF, and then use the new PDF. Don't simply save the redacted PDF document.
