Train announcements with a sense of humour

Can't contribute anything really but what a wonderful thread! :D

    Barriers to claiming Delay Repay

Sounds familiar. I think I probably have a similar issue with my recent Avanti rejection (see other thread). I've only just elevated to their complaints section so I don't know how long it will be before they respond. I've found that generally, the various companies reply much more quickly via...

Delay repay - How to succeed first time?

I just hope I'm not missing a trick. I don't think I am but I'm slightly doubting myself... time will tell I suppose ;)

Delay repay - How to succeed first time?

Following on from my post above, Avanti has now denied my appeal on basis that 'ticket was not valid for journey' (it was, and copy of it was included with the claim). At least this time the journey apparently existed. Have lodged complaint and am waiting to see what the next reason for refusal...

    Reported for prosecution...

I shall continue to hope that things can be resolved for the OP easily and swiftly. I know that if it had been me (and I do think it's easy to fall foul of these things especially since the advent of e-tickets/m-tickets) it would have thrown me good and proper.

Delay repay - How to succeed first time?

Grrr. Avanti has just rejected delay repay claim (my first with them) on basis that my journey 'didn't exist' (despite all the ticket/journey info being included with the claim). Whether it's because I originally booked trip via Virgin app I don't know (Avanti had taken over by the time I...

    Reported for prosecution...

Yes, but it's the attitude I have a problem with. I totally get that the staff member in question was right to interview the OP (and I realise we're hearing only one side of the story) but from what she says, OP would have been clearly extremely anxious/distressed during the interview (and...

    Reported for prosecution...

I agree an interview was warranted. However, from what the OP said, whoever conducted the interview came on pretty strongly (and strongly implied OP must be a serial offender). I know we only have OP's side of things but as OP suffers from anxiety (and from the sound of it would have been...

Why are on-train announcements much clearer on some services than others?

On a recent Avanti service (Birmingham NS to Penrith) the automated system was on some sort of incorrect speed-up. Like playing a 33 on 45 in the old stereo days. It sounded like Pinky & Perky (or someone had been on the Nitrous Oxide ).

    Barriers to claiming Delay Repay

I agree with Hadders about the Avanti delay repay on-line form. A problem I encountered when completing it recently was that unless you're claiming on behalf of a group, it only allows you to upload one ticket screenshot. In my case, I needed to upload both my original ticket and a Seatfrog...

    Reported for prosecution...

OP, can't add to all the excellent advice but just wanted to send some hugs in your direction. What a horrid way to start the year. Really hope this gets sorted out easily and quickly. Honestly, it does make me cross. I know fare-dodging is a Bad Thing but I really struggle with the Spanish...

Not happy with staff on Northern

I bet Northern are the Employers From Hell. I've no evidence, but based on their reputation I can just imagine it being one of those bullying, divide and rule working cultures. Not saying that's an excuse for staff to be rude or obstructive but it is so often the way when you encounter staff...

Not happy with staff on Northern

OP, what you describe is quite unacceptable to my mind. If it were me I'd definitely be submitting a formal complaint. If they don't deal with it to your satisfaction I'd be tempted to involve my MP.

More than 20 working days and no response from Cross Country about a Delay Repay Claim

If it is any help, I had a delay repay claim with them recently that went over the 40 days. I messaged them via their FB page and they responded almost instantly. I've found that CrossCountry (and, indeed Avanti West Coast and Transpennine Express) are all more responsive via FB than via email.
