I believe one of the Hebrides or Clansman is doing Coll/Tiree/Colonsay with the other planned to take over Castlebay from Isle of Lewis. My thoughts being by keeping the Lewis would allow one of the pair to run the Mull route alongside Loch Frisa in place of the Cal Isles.
I only see 4 double sets on the Bournemouth route which is only slightly more than before. Meanwhile 10 departures from Birmingham towards Plymouth today are doubles. Going north everything between the 1227 and 1827 from Plymouth is a double at some point in the journey.
The plan is for the Cal Isles to go on the Oban - Mull route. I do wonder what if they can't solve the issue. Could they keep the Isle of Lewis and then have Hebrides or Clansman on Mull instead?
Couple of shots from the 1940's weekend last week. The normal timetable seems to be planned for 'the Duke' for the next couple of weeks now it has returned from maintenance giving 'Moorbarrow' a bit of time off.
In Diesel news the Summer gala will take place on the 18th - 20th July featuring...
Seen a few EMR staff with shorts on recently.
My old office job didn't allow shorts but a few of us did a couple of years ago when it reached the high thirties for 2 days and no one was bothered.
Indeed. When I was bringing 'Moorbarrow' onto the train at Duffield on Saturday someone said 'oh there's Thomas' because it was painted blue.
I believe Steam was running before 2020 but not as much as it is now which is more or less every weekend and Fridays in the Summer.
I don't believe any voyagers have gone yet?
The 0620 appears to be booked for a 5 car but today is a 4 for some reason. The 0727 joins with another set at Bristol which arrives on the 0742 from Birmingham and the 0827 becomes a double at Birmingham joining with a portion from Cardiff. On...
New CC12 service starts next week between Rhyl and Llandudno mostly via the A55. The latest buses magazine states that coaches that were on the London to Luton Airport service are to be used.
The magazine article also states that the X51 from Rhyl to Wrexham will become TrawsCymru T13 around...
Lymington's Wigthlink terminal has a second slipway which leads to the berth adjacent to the Lymington Pier platform so if used cars would have to cross the tracks. I'm not sure how often it has been used since the 'Wight' Class vessels arrived around 15 years ago.
The cross country sets are probably more intensely used with longer routes meaning less time stood still. The Avanti units were on routes of around 2 to 4 hours with turnaround times that could be up to 2 hours with the lunch train at Holyhead.
15 for routes 2, 8, 9 and X12. It was originally announced as 6 buses for the 8 and 9 (now 39005 to 39010) so I would imagine the other 9 are coming later in the year.
I don't think there is much of an order to how they are being painted except for the ex Bristol streetdecks and eventually I would imagine the full fleet will be in the new livery.
Only 1 of the mainline vehicles have been done so far and by the looks of things E200MMC 67158 is in for paint...
Few updates looking at bustimes:
Sprinter 15010 and E200's appear to have now moved to Diamond WM.
E200 31424 looks to be withdrawn
E400 40524 has been repainted. 40526 was out yesterday so could be the last decker in Midland Classic livery if 40523 has gone for paint.
Even more fun and games going north as the last 2 from Bournemouth are cancelled!
Nottingham end whilst better is not much with a 4 hour gap between the second to last and last trains.
To give a little bit of credit though it appears 170638 did a 0931 Derby to Birmingham in place of the...
Not seen it mentioned anywhere but looking through the Cross Country website I stumbled across this consultation for Boxing Day services from Birmingham to Derby, Leicester and Manchester which if happens would be from next year. Closing date is today at 5pm.
