Should there be Extra Social Distancing Instructions for Cyclists

There was lots of talk in this thread about people, particularly cyclists, not obeying the guidelines. And there is constant justification of people not obeying the guidelines because 'the risk is minimal, etc.' - which was in the actual post you were replying to. Hence that is what I was...

Should there be Extra Social Distancing Instructions for Cyclists

    3. People who understand that tiny risks, multiplied by enough cases, can become serious problems. 4. People who think that it is sensible to be cautious in light of unknown risk, particularly when we have already shown that we were not nearly cautious enough early on. 5. People who think that...

Should there be Extra Social Distancing Instructions for Cyclists

That's just an opinion. Reducing the spread of the virus as quickly as possible will save lives and will prolong lives. Based on what? Take an extremely low risk, multiply it by an extremely high number... I seriously doubt that. I see hundreds every day from my window (convenient place for...

Some sanctimonious and judgemental individuals are shaming law abiding citizens

I suspect not as well - but I can understand it. A lot of people are scared and upset - they know that they, their friends, or their family may well not all survive this epidemic, and they just want it over with as soon as possible. Seeing people openly doing things they shouldn't, which...

Some sanctimonious and judgemental individuals are shaming law abiding citizens

Meanwhile, of course, there are thousands of people who are breaking the law, and whose actions will ultimately cost more lives. Personally, I think people dying is a bigger problem than upsetting some people who don't deserve it.

When might I be able to visit my friend again?

Morrisons food boxes are delivered by courier (dpd), so should be available anywhere. AFAIK, Asda release their delivery slots at 10pm - they don't last very long, but I can still get one for next week.

When might I be able to visit my friend again?

Are you able to get food deliveries at all? Morrisons do a food box that is delivered by courier, so you don't need a nearby store, although you don't get to choose what's in it. Amazon also have some selections of food that can be delivered. You do need to look after yourself, don't put...

When might I be able to visit my friend again?

This situation is completely unprecedented, there really is no way of knowing how long restrictions will last. I think it may be a good idea to try and prepare yourself for it being a long time, rather than feeling frustrated that it is still ongoing. For some comparison (the only one we...

    Coronavirus and running

Nice - nothing like us trying to get through a really tough time together... Actually it isn't - that's only for the most vulnerable people. For very many vulnerable people, some exercise and fresh air is massively useful.

    Coronavirus and running

That is the problem - it's completely wrong. How do you really know you haven't got it? - most people don't have any symptoms for a few days at least, and many never have any at all. And how is anyone else supposed to know you haven't got it? Viruses can be passed without physical contact...

Enforcement of the new rules on social distancing, unnecessary journeys etc.

The vast majority of people are, but in the last couple of days I have seen a number of larger groups. Apparently, Greater Manchester Police visited over 600 parties last weekend. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-52221688

Enforcement of the new rules on social distancing, unnecessary journeys etc.

It says 'typically' - do you have any reason to believe that spending 15 minutes close to one person in a week is risky, but spending 5 seconds close to 25 people a day isn't? The risk at any one time is obviously very low, but it does still accumulate. As a 'vulnerable' person, I would rather...

    Covid-19 (Coronavirus) Support/advice

Coincidentally, there is a live history lesson (later today) on the subject, from the Liverpool HQ of the fleet Aimed at primary school children, but should still be relevant https://www.facebook.com/events/682955445790269/

iPhone XR camera adding colours to photos.

Also from a quick google - you have to switch off HDR as well as Smart HDR. But there are reports this has been fixed with the latest update. 13.3.1.

    Proposed abandonment of Smart Motorways

They have different meanings. A no-entry sign applies to the whole carriageway. It's also an offence to enter a closed lane even after you have passed the sign - a no entry sign only prohibits passing it.
