South Yorkshire Joint Railway - continued purpose

I was recently back around Doncaster for a few days and was saddened to see the continued decline of the South Yorkshire Joint line - Harworth branch now completely defunct, and seemingly little to no traffic south of St Catherine's Junction. With the lack of functioning pits and the costly...

Long term workplace changes following covid19

Many firms have massively increased home working this week, to protect staff and allow things to continue whilst travel is restricted. Last week at my workplace, a rota was established and most departments had a very few staff in the building (10-20%). The hiccups which presented themselves...

    Full and Immediate Refund

I attempted to travel from Paddington today, but services were seriously disrupted with most cancelled. I had purchased a ticket from King's Cross, that being my nearest station. I decide to abandon my journey. I wish to obtain a refund for the ticket which is of no use to me, and according...

    Forum Staffing Changes

Dear all Having been part of the forum team since it was established 5 1/2 years ago, it's unfortunately time for me to hang up the keys and slink away into the sidelines. Various things outwith the forum mean I have had little time to regularly dedicate to it, so I've decided to step down as...

    Tickets delayed in the post

Someone I know has booked tickets from East Coast; however, they are to be delivered by Special Delivery. Unfortunately they haven't arrived, a few days after they should have done - presumably Royal Mail aren't bothering to deliver with the snow. Can they contact East Coast and have the tickets...

    Expired RTVs

In June 2008, I made a journey with NXEC which was severely delayed. Submitted a DR form immediately. No reply forthcoming. Sent several letters and phone calls but it took them until September to acknowledge any of them - they claimed that they were moving offices so did not have time to answer...

"Loss" of tickets - delay repay

A friend had a delayed journey and sent off to NXEC for a refund. Unfortunately they didn't take a photostat of the tickets. NXEC say they didn't receive the tickets - which were clearly placed in the envelope - I saw them. Not quite sure how they managed to come to that conclusion, but... Can...

    Tram trouble

The trams project (boo, hiss) is in bother now. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/scotland/edinburgh_and_east/7904271.stm Seemingly a key contractor has demanded a wad of cash to start work. The upshot of this is that the city has returned to its chaos with roadworks aplenty - and builders doing...

Refund in the form of a cheque

I traveled by NXEC at the start of June, train was about an hour and a half late so I submitted a delay repay form. They've still not got back to me, you can never get through to customer services on the phone and the lovely people at the station refuse to do anything other than give you the...

    London Transport Museum

Any BVE fans who happen to visit may spot something familiar ;). BVE4 is used to power 4 simulators - 2 95 stock, 1 96 stock and a 38 stock. The "higher" echelons of society seem to like it: As does the ES - they describe it in their review as an "interactive video of a tube tunnel".

BVE from the command line / shortcuts

Hi, Does anyone here know anything about launching BVE directly into a route? There is some command line switch which allows you to specify which file to load when BVE starts - it's used in BRR - does anybody know what it is? Cheers TB

    Good luck...

...to any fellow AS/A2 students who will be nervously awaiting the brown envelopes tomorrow morning. Or else maniacally pressing F5 on Track. And to the GCSE people for whom it comes next week.

    Not quite dead...

I've not said anything on the Picc front for a while - mainly 'cos there hasn't been anything to say of substance. Here's a fairly rubbish screenshot showing some scenery taking shape outside Southgate. Very much WIP.
