That's because we Cumbrians know that it's Caer Luel, the fort of Leul. Presumably it sounded different in Gaelic. However, I never worked out why "Mirehouse" is prounced My-russ. There's a lot of names like that in Cumbria, where the spelling and pronunciation seem barely related.

That would be Cumbric, rather than Welsh - another Brythonic language, now sadly lost to time.

When I booked assistance for a friend at Piccadilly we were corralled into a little area on the concourse and made to wait there until our train arrived. Not ideal for someone in the OP's position.

It's also scrolling past on the PIS as I sit here on a Welsh station platform with my suitcase waiting for the train. Nice to see some up to date information on there for once! ;)
