    Class 172 Bogie Noise

Would make sense if the wheels were wearing down (wheelflat) and yes, it is like a semi regular knocking noise. Thanks for the replies.

    Class 172 Bogie Noise

Travelling on London midland 172342 yesterday in the centre carriage and soon as we start moving there is a regular rhythm banging noise. I knew it was from coming from the wheels as they turned and it got slightly quieter at higher speeds. I've heard it on 172331 and 172341 before but it was...

    A third 150/9?

150002 feeling limp.. Never like that when at LM, obviously FGW don;t thrash them as much!:D

Any news about the Chiltern Power-door Mk3s yet?

Looking good! Just to say but those magazine nets were there before.

    Differences between Class 150s

The latter Northern didn't sound too healthy actually. This 150/2 with London Midland sounds much more normal http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t3RZHSm1aCc

    Differences between Class 150s

I agree! Excellent smooth units, well built and I rarely feel/see any vibration or rattling issues.

Any news about the Chiltern Power-door Mk3s yet?

Went on 168215 two weeks ago from Birmingham and I couldn't believe it when there were automated announcements (same as LM really)for each stop. I didn't think the 168s had this feature. Be interesting if the 168s came out in silver.

    Class 315 Shenfield

I too am not in favour of keeping them going really, but I keep hearing the ideas that they may move to Wales.

Any news about the Chiltern Power-door Mk3s yet?

Wow, didn't expect Chiltern's 172 going down to LO. Although when GOBLIN is electrified, will they go to LM and replace some of the 153s or 170s there? Do you know which 170s would come down; I'll assume the older units although prefer the 2004/2005 sets as the cab ends with the new light...

Any news about the Chiltern Power-door Mk3s yet?

Nice idea; bit complicated though I'd probably just take the additional 8 units! Although I've warmed to having a 172/2 set sandwiched between 172/0s at peak hours.

    Class 315 Shenfield

Ah, thanks! By the looks of it there are around 30 units that would be freed up. I should know anyway, I'd even posted in that topic! Stupid me:roll:

Any news about the Chiltern Power-door Mk3s yet?

With this 172/4 idea, does it involve fitting gangway 172/2 or /3 designed ends?

Potential Rolling Stock for GO-OP! Taunton-Nuneaton Service

    That's a shame; wouldn't mind that Pacesetter! Looks like a 172 actually

Potential Rolling Stock for GO-OP! Taunton-Nuneaton Service

Just found this new operation scheduled due to run from Spring 2014; it has an up to date website here http://www.go-op.coop/train/ Looks interesting as it looks like new stock shall be used; interestingly I've seen this on their website from last year that the CSRE Pacemaker is to be used...

    Class 315 Shenfield

Hi there; at the moment how many of the 315s are required to work the Shenfield line? I was just thinking about the possible future cascades that the thameslink and crossrail projects would cause.

Any news about the Chiltern Power-door Mk3s yet?

Having all the 172s under Chiltern would help things(e.g parts etc.), especially if the Snow Hill lines did transfer over.

Any news about the Chiltern Power-door Mk3s yet?

I too wouldn't mind more silver sets; excellent trains that put the likes of the voyager to shame really. I think Chiltern ideally do need some extra stock. Every time I've come back from London at around 16:00 to 18:00 the trains are packed; the loco hauled sets need another car as both times...

    2009 stock, manual driving?

Well noticed! That would explain it; thanks!

    2009 stock, manual driving?

Quite strange then in this video (am I allowed to put the link?) that he accelerates manually in public service.

    2009 stock, manual driving?

Just been watching the Tube (BBC 2012) and on the Upgrading the Tube episode on youtube (just search for The Tube - Upgrading the Tube (Series 1 Episode 4) (BBC Series 2) it appears at 41:08 that the driver is manually driving the 2009 stock. Didn't think you could do this when the train is in...
