Will the number of rail enthusiasts decline in the coming years?

You are lucky to see any spotters at my local station anymore (Sheffield) even at a weekend ,yet a decade ago there were a good few turning up to do a bit of spotting ,you still get a good few platform enders at Doncaster but even that number has dwindled

    Best UK 'High-speed train'

I went for class 91 ,had lots of great journeys up and down the east coast over the last few years ,hate the horrid Hitachi units that have more or less taken over ,dreading when MML Hitachi's take over from the meridians as at least they have a comfortable seat unlike the hard ones on the Azumas

    Flixbus Discussion

Tried the Flixbus from Meadowhall sheffield to London Victoria and back on Thursday and apart from a switch of coach at Newport Pagnell services on the southbound journey (issues with the coach according to the driver) all went well, and I had a good day in London for my £2.98 (already have 2...

    Yorkshire Tiger acquired by Transdev

If anyone was to make an offer to TM Travel it would be CT Plus (who took a lot of TMs tendered routes when they took over Powell's ) I don't think Transdev would be too interested

    Yorkshire Tiger acquired by Transdev

I remember when Tiger won a few contracts for PTE routes in South Yorkshire and the appalling service they ran ,with clapped out solos that always broke down and services that never turned up . They were so bad that they had to hand over the tenders back to the PTE well before time

    Hulley's of Baslow

Once Lockdown has finished I wouldn't mind trying out this service ,but seeing as it's only about £11 advance return on the train from Sheffield to Manchester and i have to endure at best a ride on a versa and at worst an ADL Dart instead of a class 195 i might have to think twice ;)

A ride on the Pronto to Nottingham and a trip on the X10 from Barnsley to Leeds will be my next days out once we end lockdown. I also have a West Yorkshire day saver waiting to be used, and later on when Travelodges and Premier Inns are open hopefully I'll have a few Megabus trips! (Glasgow...
