This is why I looked further South for Rail industry employment (and was successful) jobs with decent pay, pension and benefits are still rare on Merseyside hence why the huge amount of applications have been made I suspect.

Not many jobs where you can drink at work without action. Darts player and rock star spring to mind.

I reckon it would depend on the number of suitable candidates who live within the required distance/time. Relocation is something that an employer is wary of relying on unless they are short of suitable candidates which can happen but isn't always the norm...

Had a response to my feedback request which was just a stock copied and pasted set of possible reasons with nothing specific given.

Could be location, over qualified, spelling error....may contact them all the same. I have 8 years train management experience dealing with incidents conflicts and managing staff. Irons in the fire elsewhere but no feedback is frustrating to say the least.
