Front coach window hangers at galas

Was at the Nene Valley gala last weekend and was pleasantly surprised at how few (only saw a couple myself) window wallies were around. However, I'm also going to Swanage in a few weeks and for some bizarre reason, this seems to be a gala where they are out in force!

Front coach window hangers at galas

2 questions How old are you? What made you do it in the first place?

Front coach window hangers at galas

I suppose all the m*ngs will be out at the NVR gala this weekend, waving furiously. Hopefully, a strategically positioned cricket bat will be placed in the shrubbery!

Flailers, wtf is that all about? And, if they're not flailing, they are pulling what can only be described as a neo-nazi salute. Maybe I'm getting old.

A couple of hours spare at Darlington Station

Will have a couple of hours to kill here tomorrow and was wondering which is the best platform (and end) to stand on to get some decent photos. Thanks.

    Juliano's World Frenzy/Tech's Trip Reports

Thanks for the offer but after many years in the 'plane spotting' fraternity, where jargon and buzz words are just as common as they are in this hobby, I'm just getting used to speaking normally again without the need to feel as though I fit in more by using certain lingo.

    Juliano's World Frenzy/Tech's Trip Reports

I can't understand half of what you write, all of those special phrases that I would have known years ago when I was one of the 'in crowd'. That aside, I did enjoy reading it!

    Hypothetical situation re trainspotters

I didn't think platform tickets still existed! So, my local station is only manned at certain times of the day. Outside of those hours, you need a ticket from the machine at the front entrance of the station to gain platform access. My question is, are these machines equipped to dish out...

Potential Rail Disruption from Storm Angus - 20/11

Oh well, I'm out of Paddington tomorrow at 9am bound for Bristol, let's see what the weather can throw my way.

    fare evasion multiple times

There is nothing in the OP that shows where the offence(s) took place or who the TOC was so I can't see a big problem in this post.

Vaping away, on Virgin East Coast one day

Is it just me or do smokers who vape produce more 'smoke' than conventional cigarettes?

Where should I visit for a day out?

Amen to that, as I found out to my cost earlier on this year. It wasn't helped by members of the Yorkshire Police SWAT team parked like idiots in the official car park.

    Southeastern summoned me to court

How do you mean, settle out of court, are you looking for a cheaper option? You've admitted your guilt in the statement above; man up, pay up and learn from your mistakes.

    Caught with an altered ticket

Does it matter? Surely this is a premeditated act of fraud and will carry a highler penalty tariff?

    No ticket

.....and has subsequently been shown to be false. So, is ignorance a form of defence in cases like this? No, didn't think so. What is the OP on? This story has more holes than Swiss cheese!

    Great Northern Weekend Cancellations

GN have a bad track record on this. Picture the scene, it's just after Saturday lunchtime and you are waiting at Sandy or Biggleswade stations to go to Finsbury Park for an Arsenal home game. The train you want to catch is cancelled (which is bad enough) then the next one arrives and it's a...

What drives you round the bend when using the train?

I think it might be too. Regular station announcements on Great Northern stations warning people of this latest begging scam aka Tissue Beggars.
