Trainee Driver - Chiltern Railways for London Marylebone & Birmingham Moor Street (13/08/21)

I don't suppose anyone has a contact number/email for Chiltern recruitment have they? I applied for a Qualified Driver job back in March, apart from an acknowledgement email that they've received my application I've heard nothing since. If someone has anything and would prefer to PM me that...

Apprentice Train Driver - Crosscountry - Multiple Locations (09/02/2021)

Just have some patience, I had an interview for Qualified Driver with XC recently, was told it would be 1-2 weeks to find out result, it's now been almost 3. Just how it is I'm afraid, railway recruitment isn't the quickest in normal times, let alone during a pandemic.

Apprentice Train Driver - Crosscountry - Multiple Locations (09/02/2021)

Just to put my thoughts into this. I had an interview with XC on Thursday for the Qualified Driver, Birmingham role they advertised just before putting the trainee roles up. So things are moving and it really is a waiting game, patience is a virtue. The main recruitment person is indeed working...

    Approaching cautionary signals...

If you're talking about as recently as the last week or so there's currently a 20mph speed restriction just before the station coming in from the North due to the landslip which would explain the reduced speed coming into the station, better just to slow for the restriction and trundle into the...

    Approaching cautionary signals...

I don't have a specific method of remembering myself, it just seems to stick in my head as soon as I see the yellow that it's a cautionary aspect. Aknowledge the AWS and bring my train to a stand, seems to have worked well for me the last 5 years!

    SWR qualified driver positions

I originally applied for the position at Woking but got a call about a week after applying from the recruitment team saying that all new drivers they want going to Feltham. This still works for me so agreed but haven't heard anything else since then.

    GWR Penzance (Qualified)

Most companies look for 2-3 years of driving experience by yourself once fully productive. So my advice would be to not think too far ahead just yet, concentrate on getting your key, staying incident free post-qual and then the world is your oyster.

    SWR Pay

Hi all, Very interested in applying for the qualified train driver position at Woking depot. In the advert it says salary is £52k with 'regional allowances and attendance bonuses' on top. Anyone who currently works for SWR able to shed some light on how much these are and what I realistically...

    Driver Depots

Hi all, always been a bit of a lurker on here but always seems like there is great advice so thought I'd ask a quick question. I'm currently a qualified driver of 4 years with WMT but due to a new relationship potentially looking to move down south. I noticed on the SWR website there's...

    Crosscountry Senior Conductors

I used to be a guard at XC but now moved to a different company driving. In my opinion it's a great place to work, really nice routes and a cracking bunch of people to work with. Congrats on getting the job!

Trainee Train Driver - London Midland

Congratulations! I started on a course back in October and I'm currently at the practical handling stage of things and so far it's been fantastic, feels like I've got the best job in the world right now. Like you, I had to wait 3 years from start to finish but it's worth the wait. Which depot...
