    South Eastern issues 08/10

Seems there was a major issue with signals out of Charing Cross and London Bridge last night and the delays were getting up to 2 hours according to NR website. Think the issue started just after 6, but it the delays just got worse and worse according to the web.

    Paid up penalty fare., but...

I paid up the remaining balance on my penalty fare and now I have a letter demanding payment plus an admin fare of £20. Seriosuly! Are the corrupt company trying to scare more money out of me!? If I have paid up, why I am being sent a further demand for payment??? Tried to phone the number...

    Issues at Reading 20/08

Seems a broken down freight train caused chaos at the morning peak today. I am not very knowedgeable on these things, but I do know that there are quite a few lines through Reading so I wonder how one broken down train caused such a big catastrophe today? Delays of up to 120 mins according...

    TOCs being anti bike?

It seems that in this day and age that TOCs do not wish to help out bike users. Even new rolling stock are not designed with bike users in mind as the priority is bums in seats. London to Brighton Bike Ride, Southern do not do anything to help out. And another event this week, FGW are...

    WCML delay caused by rodents

As quoted on the National Rail website. Is this a common problem accross the network? I guess with miles of cables in remote areas it certainly can happen. Guess NR does not go into specifics most of the time, but never seen a report like this.

    Problems at Purley 17/02

Seems there are big electrical issues going throught Purley today. Started happening around lunchtime and the delays have just got worse throught the day! Sounds like more than a simple case of replacing a few fuses. Wonder if anyone has any further info.

Great Western Main Line (GWML) disruption continues

Oh dear. Some sort of signal failure has shut everthing into and out of Paddington. Report says all lines are blocked and considering there are 4 lines it must have been a major failure of some sort.

    Bad week for Greater Anglia

Once again the dreaded fatality has struck the same line within 2 days. Today, there was a person struck near Colchester and sympathy to those involved. I wanted to know more about the incident at Goodmayes, where it was thought someone was struck and all the works were called to look for...

    More ECML woes 12/11

Another bad day on this line due to 'safety checks', but these checks seemed to have lasted for a long time. Worst delay seems to be 12:00 KGX to Inverness at a whopping 222 minutes late!!

    Problems on SWT mainline 27/10

Wonder what has happened towards Woking? Usual websites only suggest the loose term 'operating incident', but whatever has occured has really caused some big delays. :(

What does "Reservations not applied throughout" mean?

Every so often on the East Coast train infomation section it gives out the info A to B "Reservations not applied throughout" From the outside, it looks like one has paid money for a seat, only to find that now their reservation has been revoked and now it is a free for all for seating...

Problems between Coventry & Leamington Spa

Issues with signalling in this area today and NR tweets that it is likely to last all day with no trains operating between these two stations! Most signal issues are fixed after a while, so I can only think that it maybe miscreants pilfering the cabling again :( Map

Lightning strikes twice on Greater Anglia

Seems this evening that once again a train on the track near Northumberland Park has hit the overhead cables and caused major damage. Having had a similar incident not too long ago it begs the question as to why the OLE is always 'hanging loose' and also perhaps the quality of the repair job...

    Different delay repay rules.

Thankfully I have not needed to do one of these (yet!). However, just having a quick look around (did not check every TOC), it seems TOC have free rein to set whatever rules they want. Poor FGW customers seem to have a raw deal in that any outside factors and it's tough luck no refund...

    Oh dear on the ECML

Well, good luck to the people who have to travel down/up here later on. Some major electrical issues on the line earlier and now a broken down train at Huntingdon to boot!

    SWML flooding

I thought the rainstorms were over! Was it mother nature or some kind of burst pipe that caused all these issues today?

Should Brighton have installed more gates?

It does seem cramped during peak times or other times of crowds, when people from the 1-4 platforms all converge at the same point. There seems plenty of room to install some more gates next to the other platforms. Was it just down to cost that no other gates were installed?

    Trains cancelled due to badgers

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hereford-worcester-18578214 Wonder if this is a common occurence on our network!?

    FGW this morning

Looks like the Monday rush to work may be slightly chaotic thanks to a depot derailment at Reading. Even at normal times, FGW peak trains are crowded enough. Can't imagine what things will be like today!

    ticket inspector swarm

On my usual Southern train to work this morning, I encountered, not 1, not 2, but 3 inspectors going through the train! Surely this is overkill cos I have never seen this happen before!!
