London International (CIV) tickets in connection with DutchFlyer

I have used the Dutch Flyer ticket from PBO many times. The wording of 'any AGA station' is a bit misleading as to me that implies a station operated by AGA which PBO is not. Its meant to imply valid from / to any station served by AGA.

Genuine inter-TOC competition at Milton Keynes

With regards to the latter, if no competition existed then only one set of fares would generally apply (the any permitted, be it advance or walk on) so those who want to use either now the any permitted fare applies. Surely the current operator specific tickets should be seen in the same...

Rail staff discount on Harwich ferries?

It used to be that you needed an FIP as you only pay the port tax each way plus cabins if its the night sailing (for which there was no discount on the cabins).

    Any ideas what this is?

I would imagine it was the LE off the Derby to Old Dalby unit drag (battery fitted 379) returning home.

    HS1 routing advice

It is true for the journey the OP wishes to make, in this case Gravesend to London St Pancras which has no any permitted fare available. I did try to make crystal clear in my reply.

    HS1 routing advice

That is as maybe but the TFL website (and bearing in mind an inboundary travelcard is a TfL product which they price) clearly states that travelcards are not valid on SE High Speed services between St Pancras and Stratford International. It also lists Heathrow Express and Heathrow Connect...

    HS1 routing advice

A simple answer is no, no in boundary travelcards are valid nor any tickets to/from boundary zones. The only tickets valid are point to point tickets marked 'plus high speed' for the journey you want to make.

    Class 170's on the GEML.

You may mean 156402 as that made it to London on Good Friday 2005, which I accidently dropped onto on its return. Other than that I know of no other 156's to Liv St.

    Train crew planning manager

True but depending on which TOC, this could be leading a team of diagrammers (which was my assumption). I would like to think someone who leads a team, would be experienced in diagramming (or whatever discipline)........

    Train crew planning manager

For which TOC? I assume you have Train Planning experience to be considering this role?

The Pinnacle of British Train Driving

However, I would say very tedious as 99% is under TVM430 which tells you what speed to drive. In addtion, very long sections of same speed running. I know a few ES drivers and that is their general opinion. For reference, rule book / Network requirements are: NR High Speed 1 NR...

Sold Incorrect Fare at Ticket Office?

This could be an issue with the Southeastern TIS (whichever one they use) as I was told at Rochester when purchasing a Super Off Peak Return from Stratford to Manningtree (with Network Card discount) that it was not valid, this was on a Saturday! However, mine was a different outcome, as once...

High Speed 1 (HS1) permitted routes

Could someone with a bit more expertise than me with the routing guide (its been a few years since using it in anger) clarify that its states that journies from Southeastern stations to Liverpool Street via Stratford Int / Regional is indeed valid? Reason I ask is that LUL bods on the...

    Two Together Railcard

This is typical 'commuter' rubbish. Season ticket holders do not pay the most, in fact its the complete opposite. Season ticket holders get the cheapest tickets possible for their commutes based on how much they are prepared to pay up front (ie weekly, monthly or yearly). Its a media and...

AEB v P5 foreign number books

Hmmmmmmm tricky one this as P5 books are excellent quality and of course are updated through its monthly TR Europe magazine but as you say date rather quickly. Problem with AEB is I find accuracy but tbh there are no real other options available.....

    Chatham to Calais

There is CityEurope shopping centre on the edge of town, which I think there is a bus too. Alternativley, take a train to Lille where there is lots to see and do.

Abellio to return Greater Anglia to DfT?

Perhaps Groupe Eurotunnel should bid for the 15 year franchise, putting it back where it belongs under the 'GB Railways' umbrella!
