    Caledonian Sleeper

Regarding the fares, my feeling is they should have added a coach of some hostel style bunk beds in addition to the seats as part of the Public Service remit. All the beds are sold out for tonight to Aberdeen, so there is clearly more demand than supply. Not good for a business traveller...

Ticket Validity Worcester Shrub Hill / Folgate St - Chelmsford

Thank you for letting me know, I am planning to get a train very late morning / early afternoon with the minimum number of changes and no walking between stations as I will be travelling with an elderly relative and was hoping the train would be rather less stressful than the drive.

Ticket Validity Worcester Shrub Hill / Folgate St - Chelmsford

Hi, I have a ticket for the 24th March from Worcester Shrub Hill / Folgate St to Chelmsford, the ticket mentions "only via London and Stroud or Evesham" Unfortunately there appears to be engineering work on the 24th March, and National Rail are showing routes via Birmingham New St and...

    Stansted Airport fines

Greater Anglia also have a contactless card scheme for Season tickets, so it is easy for people new to the Railways to see other people 'tapping in' and think they can with a debit / credit card.

Why is rail travel in Cornwall so cheap ?

But taking the car means you also save on local transport costs and being able to visit places off of the Public Transport Network without the need for a Taxi.

GWML / Elizabeth line disruption due to OLE down near Paddington

With no toilets on that Train on a Thursday evening, the evacuation certainly took too long.

Go to bed in Swansea, wake up in Paris

I would think a business sleeper train from London to places such as Frankfurt, Geneva and Zurich would be very popular. You only have to see how many European Banks have offices in London. Would save a many early trips to the airport and enable you to have a full day in the office and dinner...

    Low end EVs

I and probably you went from a Nokia or Blackberry which I had to plug in once a week or every few days to a smart phone I have to plug in every night. The plug for the car is on the front of the house, so I don't really have to think about it, just plug it in when I get home, it's just like...

    Low end EVs

You also have to take into account reduced servicing costs. There is very little to service on an electric car. A used Leaf or Zoe at less than 5k Would make a very cheap to run car and would serve most of your needs.

Evolyn to investigate cross-Channel rail services (clarified to not include Mobico)

Stratford is very well connected,( with the 5 min walk through the shopping centre ) possibly better than St Pancras, opens up most of London, including the City, Canary Wharf and East Anglia. It's a real shame that St Pancras does not have enough spare capacity for more operators given how...

E-scooter & hoverboard ban on GTR

I am slightly confused by all this, E Scooters are not legal on UK roads apart from the Hire Schemes around the country, Police appear to have given up on enforcement entirely.

Tank Containers on the Tesco Inverness Train

Would seem a better solution to build a small refrigerant plant near St Fergus on the UK Gas Network rather than putting it in a refrigerated container the whole length of the country.

Greater Anglia Bombardier Aventras (Class 720): Technical discussion and introduction

I am seeing quite a few delays / cancellations due to train faults on the Greater Anglia Twitter, particularly early morning. Are there reliability statistics available for the 720's as yet ?

    Stopping short at traffic lights

It is probably someone just not thinking, best to assume everyone on the road is a distracted idiot and you won't be far wrong !. I had someone pull out in front of me at at T Junction last week, I had to do a full emergency stop with most of the contents of the car flying forward at high...

    Stopping short at traffic lights

I am of the opinion if someone wants to pay for my car, VED and Insurance then they can tell me how to drive, until that point as long as it is within the law and Highway Code it is fine.

Greater Anglia Bombardier Aventras (Class 720): Technical discussion and introduction

Whilst I would like to see the Stats as well, peak trains have been full and standing this week.

    Railways lurching out of control?

The basic problems are inbuilt costs. BR was an integrated unit under government control, the system we have now is not. If you want to cut costs for me the big ticket items are as follows. 1) Insurance - Bring the Railways under Government control and self Insure. 2) Network Rail...

Caledonian Sleeper: How should it be run and what changes would you like to see?

The real question is how much does it add to the local economy ? if this means tax take is increased by the losses each year then the money is not lost, it is an investment. All those people travelling to the Highlands spend money, and all those business people living in Scotland that need...

    Eurostar not serving Kent.

The rail journey takes 7 mins, but you have to build in waiting time, transit time on lifts escalators and a back up plan in case of delays etc all with luggage and if catching an early Eurostar it certainly has just put me off using it to Rotterdam, as it is if I am connecting I may as well...
