    Virgin late night paths

Anyone using the WCML can tell you that all late services are well loaded to MKC at which point they become very empty! Its a joke - 2 hours 40 to Wolverhampton. Almost as long as the all shacks London Midland service takes!

    Virgin late night paths

It is a thinned out service at the moment ie pretty much nothing running, so why allow 1 hour for Euston to Milton Keynes, then have to sit in MKC for 20 mins??? Why not make it set down only at everywhere north of Euston so the service can run ahead of time? Would be much cheaper to operate...

    Virgin late night paths

Why are some of the last trains of the day operated by Virgin out of Euston timed so pathetically slow and booked slow line all the way to Rugby? I can stomach the pitiful Saturday night service which ends very early due to the regular engineering blockade but on Sunday night we were sent via...

    Virgin Trains to Blackpool

16:33 ex Euston - the always late train. It manages to catch up by the time it gets up north though with all the padding in the timetable. Expect some overcrowding on this service. The single voyager just about manages on the busier commuting days, but with extra Blackpool passengers on...

stone staffs - junction where only 1 route is available to passengers

It would make sense for them to open the Up platform on the Colwich branch to allow the 17:24 ex Euston to call at Stone, given the poor connections to Stone as this service passes through but does not call.

Euston concourse redevelopment by late 2015

They're not really making a lot of progress with this at all. They started work several months ago and all they've managed so far is a bit of asbestos removal from the windows and labelling of some ACMs by the escalators and first class lounge. Tie Rack has closed as well as the information...

    Virgin extension until 2017

Milton Keynes doesn't need any more VT services stopping in the morning peaks. Not sure about evenings however. Part of the reason there is overcrowding is because VT stop some services there. Because they're quicker than the LM ones, MKC passengers choose the VT services rather than the LM...

    Euston evacuated (16/04)

I see from the photos that the asbestos decontamination units are still there. Are there more works to be completed? Are they going to strip the rest of the front of the station? Are they going to do anything with the mess created following the recent works? To be fair to all those involved...

    Virgin Trains Severe Overcrowding

Obviously anyone who has purchased a ticket has as much right to a seat as anyone else no matter where they are boarding. My point in the OP was the uncivilised manner in which some MKC passengers employ in an attempt to get a seat. Shoving, shouting etc is just unecessary. Some argue that...

    Virgin Trains Severe Overcrowding

After last weeks Wolverine/X-Men debacle, Virgin once again inflicted the FU effect on rush hour passengers by running 390 047 on 1R05 ex Liverpool calling at Runcorn, Crewe, Stafford, Rugby, Milton Keynes Central arriving into Euston at 07:52. 390/0 stock is adequate for such runs that avoid...

    X-Men Pendolino

I saw this unit this morning in Euston after alighting an exceptionally packed 1R05 ex Liverpool service. Virgin gave passengers the FU effect by subbing the usual /1 for a /0 which caused issues at animal central (MKC) when the cattle piled on and realised there were 2 coaches short...

    Euston concourse works

Does anyone know what is happening at Euston? They've closed down all of the retail units facing the departure boards and erected hoardings between the main 2 doors. Some scaffolding has been put up and Rhodar have been in all week making very slow progress in constructing some asbestos...

Another bad evening on WCML South

There was an all line block for some time. Absolutely ridiculous for a failed train. Second evening on the trot the 17:07 ex Euston was delayed by more than 30 minutes. Then there were signalling problems on Mon/Tues morning causing delays into London. Not a good week for south WCML :(

    Railway Myths (2013)

Myth 390001: Virgin services departing Euston after 16:00 which call at stations in Staffordshire always make their station calls at the advertised arrival time Myth 390002: It is acceptable to announce the arrival time at calling points on Virgin routes as the departure time at said calling...

Tonights (14/8) 1830 Eus to GLC Pendolino running.

Are some drivers just slow? For example, you're permitted to do 70mph on the motorway yet many drivers sit in the middle lane at 60mph when conditions are good and the road is clear. Is it feasible that some drivers may drive at 105/110mph on the 125mph sections on the WCML for no good...

Tonights (14/8) 1830 Eus to GLC Pendolino running.

The Virgin timetable for stations north of Euston for northbound trains in the evening peak isnt worth the paper its written on. Most days, the services I use are always losing time for unexplained reasons, mainly random slow running. However, they really need to sort out their contract...

    Euston

Birmingham New Street (BHM) was in a far better state in its pre-refurbishment days than Euston is now. The main factor being that there wasn't such a suffocating smell on the platforms!

    Euston

What a sorry state the place is in. I didn't get much of the fuss about the need for rebuilding it, I previously used to pass through between 5 and 10 times a year, but now I have to pass through most days, I've noticed what an absolute state the place is in. Since the hot weather has...

    Delays

Bingo! Thank you. Just wanted to track how much of my time has been wasted in delays on the WCML this week.

    Delays

No, there was a link posted to a site where you could look up a service either by headcode or time from any date from the past year or so and it said whether it was on time or how many minutes delayed it was. There were all sorts of stats aswell. It was sort of similar to real train times...
