That Littel Yellow Train, and the Spanish end

oh, there's some bad words in there arent there. I may still go this way, two tunnels through the rocks, and get to camp in Italy for the night. BTW, There is a nice bus from Tirano to Erodo, so I am making that an excuse to T-shirt it back over the Bernina for the 4th time in order to tee...

That Littel Yellow Train, and the Spanish end

Ah, I had this problem with the train up to Tirano once, which Bahn doesnt have and wants s to send you via zurich. But at least trenialia did have that. This will be camp for the night, first bus and off to le nid. OK, ta.

That Littel Yellow Train, and the Spanish end

yes, that's it. So we now know it's called R3, and what the Catalan is for any of these. But still no firm evidence that it's in use, and just as importantly, when --- old post above --- --- new post below --- beg ' pardon. 2nd link. well done, mucho obligo --- old post above --- --- new...

That Littel Yellow Train, and the Spanish end

gracias. but this is my problem, nothing shows up, not on bahn, not on renfe, not nothing. I dont want a TGV, I'd like a not too full but as clapped out as you like local train. But a train of any description will do. To be specific, it's the spanish side I have trouble with.

That Littel Yellow Train, and the Spanish end

merci bien. That's just the line itself though, I am trying to work out how I get from the other end, short of coming all the way back. There's supposed to be a TGV running along this at some stage, which obviously means they are going to have to knock the rails a bit closer as invasion is no...

That Littel Yellow Train, and the Spanish end

I cannae find any timetables for the Latour de Carol end. Have they pulled the whole thing up in order to put fancy trains on it from Barca to Toulouse or sommat ? Also, I saw a pic of open carriages like on the Bernina in the summer (11:20 train I think). Does anyone know if that's just for...

    Burma Railways Route Planner

I've done the same for Sri Lanka http://gee,chalo.org.uk/index.html This is based on the data avaliable from eservices.railway,gov.lk , i.e it's incomplete. The data is editable via a system I have built called Gee which you can see here...

    Burma Railways Route Planner

Hi, Thanks for at least hitting the link. I dont really understand why both of those arent working for you, they are from elsewhere outside my network, but I'll work it out. I am of course very aware of mark smith and his fountain of knowledge. Indeed any data he has I have captured. What...

    Burma Railways Route Planner

I am a software engineer and I am building open source / open data routee tinding systems for places like Bangladesh and Burma and anywhere else that's "off the map". ("open source / open data" means the software if free, you can install it yourself if you wish, and so is the data, you can put...

    Interrailing 2014

Well, I know you disagree. 6 hours is enough for two meals and over 4 hours of sight seeing and provision procurement (for me, a deli counts as sighseeing). If you are going to be exhausted from tthe train, then you need to either man up or change pace radically. I assume our two intrepid...

    Interrailing 2014

My two eurocents worth.... No Prague, and no Sarajevo *sob*. It's cheap to sleep in either. Both are, IMHO, obligatory for this kind of comprehensive treatment. The easiest way to get to Sarajevo is from Zagreb, indeed that's currently the only way without leaving the tracks. But it is...

    Bangladesh Railways Route Finder

Hi John. That was running off my laptop, it should be running again now. Yes I saw rome2rio. It's nicely done, and through some of the work I have started they may be able to take a GTFS feed for Bangladesh before long. Longer term I am looking at crowd sourcing back of beyond bus data. To start...

    Bangladesh Railways Route Finder

I am going to Bangladesh in the New Year. As you wil be aware if you've ever looked at the place, finding any data on the country is hard enough. Finding a comprehensive listing of the timetable is impossible. So I thought we should make one. I wanted to show you all this after I have got...

The Great Circular European Railway Challenge

Day Zero has begun. The Laird and the large Liverpudlian are moving south and our rep from the west country is heading east on God's own mode of transport. We may stick out heads in here during the trip but you can keep abreast via just about any form of social media...

The Great Circular European Railway Challenge

well they take probably 3 bags each if they are the same size as everywhere else, which comes out under 60p each. As the departure date hurtles towards us, like an express train, the overriding feeling about these stops is one of survival:- dump the bags, go get the picnic, sit down, think...

The Great Circular European Railway Challenge

Scooter actually has a competitor for the role who goes by the name of Captain Shakti, GCIRC participants probably wont thank me for reminding them about him. I haven't the bottle just yet to subject the facebook group to a picture of "The Captain" but John insists that he's coming. What has...

The Great Circular European Railway Challenge

Outstanding, thank you indeed. Yes it seems there's roughly one an hour, it's just none of them set of from Ploce so as you say, we're prob going to have to split for Split. But we have quite a bit of time and those who want to avoid being forced to go swimming in Bacvice can get a later one...
