Wizz Air question now the UK is not in the EU

I'm going to say yes, on the basis of my trip out. You'll find out when you check in on the app whether you get a real boarding pass or a 'placeholder' one. 1710787440 Seems like everybody on the flight had to do so, so I'm going with this theory. Paper boarding pass issued at check in desk (no...

    Annoying television adverts...

That all looks very familiar! Certainly the security bit was filmed in mid-January and seemed to take a fair few takes. Who'd have thought that downing a bottle of water was so scrutinised. And no, I'm not visible queuing up normally in the distance haha.

    Annoying television adverts...

Do you have a YouTube link? I only say as when I last flew through Stansted, one line of security was closed for filming of a scene... which fits exactly with what you've just described!

Wizz Air question now the UK is not in the EU

May be with Wizz, but not had that on any other UK-bound flights from Europe otherwise.

Wizz Air question now the UK is not in the EU

Currently in this exact situation - London to Skopje accepted a mobile boarding pass as normal, straight to security. Check in for the return flight (Skopje to London and its given me a quasi-boarding pass with a seat assigned etc. but "NOT A VALID BOARDING CARD" written at the top and an...

Paddington (PAD) to Luton Airport (LUA) with Priv

Hi all, Another fare query I'm afraid... I've got an early flight from Luton Airport (yep, I know...!) in a few weeks time, so will be travelling up the night before. My itinerary is therefore: Day 1 - Paddington (PAD) to Luton Airport Parkway (LTN) - evening peak Day 2 - Luton Airport...

Wizz Air question now the UK is not in the EU

When I flew with Wizz from Bucharest to Gatwick in 2022, I just flew with a mobile boarding pass and didn't visit the check in desk

BT and EE annual increase of RPI +3.9%

Just like when Three categorically stated that they wouldn't be bumping people off plans when EU roaming was withdrawn, and then very shortly after saying that they had been reviewing their product offer and decided they were withdrawing the legacy plans including EU roaming as part of their...

No working toilet on the train.

Disagree. You can walk through a train and not do tickets. If its too unsafe for the staff member, why is it safe enough for a customer? I'm not saying go chasing every £3 at 11pm at night, let's be realistic here, but there is absolutely no reason why a couple of walk throughs cannot be achieved.

[PL] Access to timetable info and internet ticket sale restricted by geolocation.

I booked a ticket on the PKP website last month without any issues, whilst in the UK.

    Storm Henk travel disruption 02/01/24

Yes - only on certain Wessex routes initially. Not all. That was until the blanket 'all stop' across most of Wessex came in..

    Portsmouth Harbour-Cardiff Central GWR

HSTs only stopped using SDO - 4 vehicles if I recall correctly. Units are restricted to 5 vehicles at STJ. Ultimately you can stop a train as long as you like, provided that it is fitted with SDO so only the platformed coaches are released. With the 158 and 16x fleet, its 5 max as that is what...

“ Penzance to Paddington train had to reverse along rails after 'mis-routing'”

I don't sign it, but I believe Cogload Junction (if this is where the incident is, which sounds like it) has no routing equipment (such as Preliminary Route Indicator) or signal restrictions for diverging routes in advance of the junction. So the first time a driver knows is when they reach the...

I'll let people who identify as gender fluid answer that one!

    "Ladies and gentlemen"

Thats what I use (albeit not in a tone suggested by the ! at the end) and have done for the last few years. It is easy to be a naysayer on something like this and I probably used to be, but just imagine going through your life being told at every turn that you don't exist, because you don't...

Heathrow and BA a disgrace to the country

Realistically, 95% of people won't. Only flown with them once (Europe short haul). My experience was probably clouded by being in the last row of an A320 with no window in the most crowded bit of the plane where it tapers in. They were ok but quite frankly I wouldn't pay a premium to fly with...

Outrage as London tube driver whips up passengers to chant pro-Palestinian slogans

Quite - on 'work time' you don't have views on anything political when in the public domain. Simple.

"We Played a 72 Hour Game of Tag Across Europe (Again)"

I'll confess the Canada series in my view was the weakest of the 4 series (season 1-3 and the Celebrity version at present). Stunning scenery, but the scarcity of public transport meant it became over-reliant on hitchhiking and lots of 'one route in/one route out' places. I think Series 2 (South...

    Euston no trains 15/10/23

Yes - albeit relative to the price paid to the ticket. Same levels (ie. X% for Y-minute delay) but according to the price paid originally.

"We Played a 72 Hour Game of Tag Across Europe (Again)"

The 'chasers' are permitted to use a taxi*, the 'runner' is not. *But limited in scope; this crops up again in a later episode.
