    Interesting programme on PBS America channel 534 now on sky on trains colliding and what America did to prevent trains hitting head on single track. Very different approach to this country single track working, I think it was called PTC System or do we have a similar system in the UK?

    Do they use a crane to lift a derailed train or do they use jacks to lift it back onto the rail? A crane would be quicker I guess but that would mean cutting the power to the overhead lines? Are their lifting hooks built into the carriage body to make lifting easier?
