    Off peak Oxford to Preston

    I've bought an off peak ticket intending to travel from Oxford to Preston at 8:36 today. I now wish to travel later so went to check which other trains were off peak. But it now appears every train requires an anytime ticket. Am I being really stupid and missing something?

    I am travelling to Mallaig on Thursday and would like to know if with an anytime return I can spread my return over a few days. I would like to stop off over night in Fort William and Corrour on my way back to Glasgow. I think this is allowed on an anytime return but i have never done it before...
