    DOO now coming to Sweden

Weren't they referring to the differing circumstances of national network Drivers and LU Train Operators in lone working, in the rest of the post? If and when provided, true. If we're going to give any thought to what the OP said though, straight DOO is being proposed...

    DOO now coming to Sweden

Varies, only a few weeks ago I know of a group trashing a train who had a good go at breaking down the Driver's door while in a station, they were only noticed in the first place by the Guard. I'd say I've had four situations in the last year that I wouldn't have wanted I or the Guard to deal...

    DOO now coming to Sweden

It'll likely be dealt with at the next station, where you'll both be present. If the disorder is such that the train is brought to a stand or the Driver is incapacitated, the Guard can get to the front unit via the ballast.

    DOO now coming to Sweden

Both in terms of liability and circumstances that you could find yourself in, such as dealing with disorderly passengers alone, potentially on trains that are otherwise empty, like described by the OP.

    DOO now coming to Sweden

I think the point is clear for everyone to see. If you want to have yet another generic debate about the general safety of DOO, maybe start another thread? 1678223108 Edit: In response to what was added subsequently: I think for Drivers working under DOO is less safe, but that it isn't most...

    DOO now coming to Sweden

That those who argue "DOO is safe" have little interest in what the OP was discussing, which is what it meant for them as a Driver. It doesn't need to be explained if you read the whole post. You've subsequently provided great supporting evidence though.

    DOO now coming to Sweden

It completely ignored the point made, which was in response to what the OP said, which I quoted. There was no point made in the five words you quoted, which you took out of context to try and make your own point. I'm glad we're doing this in public for once though. Which weren't relevant to...

    DOO now coming to Sweden

I'm not sure why you omitted the rest of the post very selectively quoted, but in doing so it does essentially confirm the point I made in that paragraph...

    DOO now coming to Sweden

That's certainly not a standard that DOO has had to contend with here. The "DOO is safe" crowd don't really account for such factors, which makes most discussion on the matter rather awkward. Where I am you feel the need for two people in case one of us gets battered, but that's hard to...

Should train driving be a graduate profession?

I must be more compassionate, I feel sorry for them!

Should train driving be a graduate profession?

Because needing to get a mortgage to buy your way into a shot at a job doesn't sound right?

Tyne & Wear Metro Fleet Replacement: Awarded to Stadler

What test was being conducted which was interrupted while it was in transit? What would need to checked after any member of the public had been in close proximity to the unit, at any point? What checks do you think are performed on any train that the public have potentially had access to, which...

    The Death Penalty

At least we don't have keep him going then. ;) Though I'm not sure that Anders Breivik and Che Guevara are in the same category or that the former could attract the same appeal.

    The Death Penalty

So if we killed Wayne Couzens, people might start wearing his face on a t-shirt...? At least we'd know who to avoid.

Northern staff reveal worst passenger habits

My question is, why would Northern even put this out? 'This is what we our staff don't like about our customers' seems like odd PR...

    The Death Penalty

Indeed. Another factor is that many of these peoples cases are essentially historic at this point and weren't clear cut even in their time, where they were convicted without the weight and nature of evidence that can be available now in some cases. The death penalty for marginal cases is clearly...

Tyne & Wear Metro Fleet Replacement: Awarded to Stadler

So many words to speak so little sense, it's quite something. What are you on about man?! The thing Stadler specialise in and are famous for are their bespoke products for non-standard systems. Which Hitachi Rail product demonstrates to you that they were better suited to delivering...

    The Death Penalty

Those against the death penalty seem to be keen on it being handed out willy-nilly, I wouldn't envisage it being common. A prerequisite should be a higher burden of proof to be tied to it, such that proof of guilt is irrefutably. In this day and age, there'll be cases where that is possible...
