    Combining zonal tickets

I can't help arguing with idiots - I really need to get a full time job so I don't have so much time!

    Combining zonal tickets

I’m having a fight online (where else!?) with someone who is insisting that you can’t travel London zones 2-5 if you have 2 tickets, a zone 2-3 and a zone 4-5, essentially saying that you must also have a 3-4 card. I remember a forum member (Possibly Yorkie?) having this issue and sorting it out...

Kings Cross to Edinburgh Advances - when are they released?

Hi all, long time no speak! I’m travelling up to Edinburgh from Kings Cross around 10am on the 18th August, returning at the same time on the 23rd. Right now there don’t seem to be any advances available. Have I missed them or are they not released yet? If anyone knows when they should be...

Overcrowding - could it be due to migration into this country?

http://www.rifemagazine.co.uk/2015/01/cant-say-coloured-questions-race-answered/ Coloured hasn't been acceptable for at least 30 years, so it's not a case of 'this week'. If you do want to be sensitive then 'People of Colour' is the acceptable phraseology.

    Could Motorail have a future?

I see what you did there, very good!

    American Station Announcers

Not Americans but I have noticed some editorialising on the Northern Line. I don't travel by tube too often, so it's ok with me. :)

Just how are train fares worked out?

    How are fares decided?

    Bendy Buses in the UK

Interesting that the 29 route used to be bendy buses, it must have been quite interesting for the driver to make the jump across all the lanes at the top of Camden High Street to turn right onto Camden Road in a vehicle that long. I liked them on the 207 when I lived in Ealing, but then I used...

Just had an email from TfL saying the strike's been suspended.

    Fare Evasion 4 times

Talking to the Police officers I now know, they barely have time to deal with the serious crimes, let alone minor ones like this. And that's before the cuts that are coming.

How do you fill the time when delays occur or you have a gap between services

It's why tablets and internet forums were invented! I rarely leave the station, I just sit & wait & surf.

Gate jumper - staff did nothing

At Watford High Street the standard response was to shout 'Stop! Come Back!'. But then again, you'd have to pay me a lot more than a gateline attendant gets to tackle those yobs, so I have absolutely no problem with it.

Split Ticketing Notice of Intention to Prosecute.

I was querying the assertion that it was a privilege and not a right to split. NRCoC says you are allowed to use multiple combinations of tickets to make a journey, which makes splitting a right not a privilege given by 'the Railway' and therefore within their power to take away.

Split Ticketing Notice of Intention to Prosecute.

I'm pretty sure buying split tickets is a right, which is backed by the NRCoC. When you get to exercise that right, is another conversation.

Trivia: Stations that don't use the correct name of the place.

Reminds me of my friend who used to insist she lived in 'North Chiswick' when really she lived in South Acton! Back on thread however, mention must go to Bushey Station. More accurately South Watford (or perhaps something Oxhey?) since Bushey is quite a few miles away up a stonking...

An extraordinary conundrum regarding fare evasion....Advice needed

^^ What he said! Also these people try to elicit information out of you that they have no right to have, or you don't want to give. I have a very old alleged debt that is still doing the rounds. It's not valid and was challenged and dismissed years ago. It's in a package that seems to get sold...
