Operations of the Waterloo-Exeter 50s (and loco diagramming in general)

Big Jumby 74, No worries it was worth a shot. D6130, no worries again it was worth a shot, I can remember having to go to 'work' with my dad during school holidays. I guess my favourite turn from that time was 07:20 Ore to Brighton, then one of the Brighton to Victoria fasts before taking an...

Big Jumby 74. If you have any info related to Friday 11-02-83 I would be interested to know. I have some known workings from a bashers group on facebook, along with photographic evidence of 33211 working the 08:40 Hoo Junction to Woking Down Yard (Keeps it on topic for Woking...) with a VEP...

"Covid rising in England" - let's stop the fear mongering

Lets put the blame where it belongs, and here it belongs in two places. First place of blame - The right honourable member for Uxbridge (Mr Johnson) for bringing in the restrictions Second place of blame - A certain resident of No 11 Downing Street. There was nothing to say that he had to bring...

    Southern England EMU’S

Indeed the 13:38 and 15:18 were through services, I decided to split them in that manner to facilitate the attaching and detaching of the VEG unit being clear rather than possibly impling to other readers that the train was 8 car through out. :D

    Working timetable abbreviations

Is / Was there a loop line at the location. Certainly in a lot of places (May just be a Southern Region thing) a capital V would indicate a loop line, although this should be shown with the list of line codes on the first page, for instance at London Bridge - UPV was used for Up Passenger Loop...

Signalling question: Intermediate block signals on the former Southern Region

I can confirm that Bexhill signalbox was able to switch out of circuit, and indeed for a number of years it would only switch in when required for engineering works. During this time the block section would be St Leonards West Marina (SL) until that closed and then Bopeep Junction(BJ) to...

I can't do this for much longer.

So just to clarify you are saying that you feel at this point that a 'lockdown' where you can still leave the house is causing you to get to the point where you will undertake criminal activities such as arson, which will cause you to be locked in a room potentially 12 feet by 8 feet for...

New lockdown in England, including school closures, announced by Johnson, 4/1/21

"Allows the children to spend more time in school as they need school) I have quite clearly stated in agreement with Richard Scott that children do need school. Relevant part of my post highlighted.

New lockdown in England, including school closures, announced by Johnson, 4/1/21

I take it from this comment about children needing school that you support the following measures 1 - Reduce the summer holidays from six weeks to at the most one week, the Christmas holiday goes from Christmas Eve to the 2nd of January, the only time off for Easter is Good Friday to Easter...

    New 4-tier system for England

Well as people want to have a date for the easing of restrictions I suggest the following announcement to satisfy the wish for an end date. Our great leader The Right Hon B Johnson ranking second only to the almighty JC (In this case the great almighty Jesus Christ our lord and saviour whose...

Changes to 4-Character Headcode Conventions in recent years

The confusion with same train reporting numbers (head codes are 2 characters displayed to inform customers the route a train is taking (i.e 02 Charing Cross to Maidstone West or stations short there of via Tonbridge) going different ways is why Hastings to Charing Cross and vv are now given...
