    Reigate stabling sidings

I really hope we don't lose it, my depot doesn't sign Reigate's, but I retained the route from when I was previously based at Selhurst, and it is nice to go down there as a break from the norm every so often.

    Dorking Signal question

Thanks for the reply Paul. Literally no idea but it has always made me wonder. Does anyone know what the signal alias plates are that go through Deepdene and Dorking West? As I don't have a clue.

    Reigate stabling sidings

Both Platforms at Reigate are officially 4 car length. You could probably fit 5 in 2 and 6 in 1 realistically, but the official length is 4. When I was learning the route I was briefed I could take 8 cars there but we have to take 4 across the level crossing to an 8 car stop mark (and block the...

    Reigate stabling sidings

I have signed Reigate as a route for about 5 years now. In that time I have been in (and out) of the siding 3 times. Rarely if ever gets used. In that time I have done the cross platform shunt once. I'm intrigued how this new rebuilding work there is going to pan out down there and what it...

    Dorking Signal question

Hello all, My my it has been quite a while since I last posted on here. I have been a train driver for almost 8 years now, and I have signed Dorking for 6 years almost but one thing that has always bugged me, and I can't seem to get an answer from anyone, not even a chap I know who has been on...

I am yes. I found an old thread with lots of detail about Wimbledon Park yesterday.

    Southwest Trains Any Info Please.

I don't know what they are like to work for, but as someone who has and does use them to travel quite regularly I think their service is very good. I am interested in Wimbledon myself. Clapham Junction as far as I am aware is not a driver depot, just a berthing facility.

    Class 456's on the move?

    What's wrong with them?

    Class 456's on the move?

Actually got on a 456 for the first time under SWT control today. They have done an amazing job on them. I used to hate travelling on them when we had them as they were so drab and dreary inside, but now they are bright and spacious. I also see they have changed the crap aws reset button we...

    Atlantic Line (Southern)

This route, London Bridge to Victoria via Denmark Hill etc was shut about 6 months before I joined Southern. Is it gone for good, or will Southern ever claim it back? A few people have said it could come back, but I don't know if that is just false rumours etc. Hardly any kind of tell tale...

First driving job of any kind I have seen advertised by SWTs. I have been looking at their site at least once a week for almost three years now.

    Southern Train Crew Depots

There is a crew / mess room on the Platform with a key coded door. Same at Epsom.

    Southern Train Crew Depots

Used to be one. Not sure when that would open if it did though as there are currently no facilities for staff.

    Southern Train Crew Depots

There is already a Southern depot at Three Bridges. They are just building a new one for GTR. Caterham and Epsom both have 18 drivers. And apparently Streatham Hill will be opening up as a driver depot again in December, with on going talks of reopening Tattenham Corner depot.

Old Railway Bridge between Balham and Streatham Hill?

The lines do seem to line up with where the Depot down sidings are. Not sure if it is relevant or just coincidence mind you.

Old Railway Bridge between Balham and Streatham Hill?

I was told when learning Streatham Hill Depot that the block was the original buffer stops for the depot. A train did indeed hit it and almost smashed it into the path of an on coming train, but luckily it stopped short enough not to obstruct any lines. There is now a tredle in front of the...

Old Railway Bridge between Balham and Streatham Hill?

Just goes to show you don't always take in all of your surroundings, I have signed this route for ages, but the other day going along from Streatham Hill to Balham I noticed over to my right what looks like part of an old railway bridge with gaps where tracks would have gone. Does anyone know...

    Myth or Truth...

TDK I have seen you post om here many times so I think you know what you are talking about! How difficult would you say it is to keep a perfect record as a driver? So far I am coming up to two years post qualified and don't have any SoL incidents to my name. It is something I am proud of, but am...
