On the official Zonecard leaflet, Scotrail is clearly stated as the only rail operator which accepts Zonecard. If Virgin do accept it, brilliant! I know TPX have a particular issue with it and regularly sell rail tickets to Zonecard holders.

Scotrail's Thyrons have a simcard installed though I'm not sure what extra functionality they provide. We have a system of conductors and ticket examiners filling out customer details in 'card declined' reports, and these reports seem to be on the increase of late.

Yes this is valid. I presume you are referring to travel on the Larkhall to Dalmuir limited stop services? This is a valid route for your season ticket and you can ask for a print - out of your journey at any station in case you get any grief from the ticket examiners on - train.

Got the new publicity through today for the Two Together railcard, seems this will be very popular indeed. The only restriction is that journeys cannot be made between 4.30am and 9.30am Monday to Friday. Cost is £30 bucks, roll out from 1 March apparently.
