New Mills Central landslip - 6 week closure

You couldn't take any photos really without walking the track from NMC. The down line visibly dips and leans to the left towards the valley below. As you go over the section the train leans over to the left quite noticeably.

Aslef strikes and OT ban called…

Aslef would likely welcome an approach from Govt with a similar offer to the RMT. We've been told they have had no contact whatsoever from RDG. It's not about saving face.

RDG response to RMT's recent "road map" proposal.

About 190 I think. 190 spaces anyway. They will all be replaced with new drivers......but it's a slow process to become fully productive on all routes/traction, especially with no RDW.

RDG response to RMT's recent "road map" proposal.

Yep. My depot is losing 12 fully route & traction trained drivers to Avanti over the next 6-12 months. 2 are going to Cross Country and 1 or 2 every couple of months to TPE or Freight.

RDG response to RMT's recent "road map" proposal.

Of course I want roads. You are the one picking and choosing which public services you deem appropriate for subsidy

RDG response to RMT's recent "road map" proposal.

So you do want out govt to build and maintain roads for car usage...... Does road building pay for itself or is it a cost to the taxpayer? Perhaps I as a taxpayer don't want to pay for it as I don't use it? 1694336583 Tories love bringing up previous Labour governments or even strikes from 40+...

What if the railways actually contribute to the UK via economic multiplier effects. The railway is a service to the UK economy, not a sunk cost
