When there's a double set of doors and people all slowly squeeze, usually in single file, through one door and no-one attempts to open the other door so that twice as many people can exit or enter. I always push or pull and say loudly "TWO DOORS!"

Maybe sounds a bit crazy but try Cardiff, Cheltenham and Newport? All quite easy to get to with late trains.

Had an email from Avanti offering 75% off a single or return ticket for one journey for either one or two people. Valid for booking until 8 February and travel until the 22nd. Worth checking emails! No railcard discount on top.

Big news for Manchester to Stoke. New 2246 Northern service on weekdays from December. This is a change to the current 2218 last train . Makes it more likely to see the end of theatre shows / gigs!

The 2314 to Macclesfield from Manchester is only when the 2218 last train has been cancelled - it's a replacement for it. It also connects to an RRB to Stoke at Macclesfield. It really is a joke and upsetting the last train to Stoke and Macclesfield is so ridiculously early!
