    Scotrail Trainee Drivers (Ongoing)

What tests did you do and what were they like? Did you also do your MMI? I’m pretty sure there’s loads on this forum about the DMI if you search for it. Best of luck.

Which depot was that for if you don’t mind me asking @Throwaway12 ?

ScotRail Industrial Relations issues (including conductor strike action)

All staff have NOT been offered the same deal, the conditions attached vary from union to union to as such. The majority of productivity and efficiency savings are aimed at RMT members and Conductors in particular.

ScotRail Industrial Relations issues (including conductor strike action)

Scotrail are now saying if non union staff break the strike and work through COP26 they will receive the £300 payment AND the pay rise. Paying 2 people different salary’s for doing exactly the same job doesn’t seem right. Not sure of the legality either.

ScotRail Industrial Relations issues (including conductor strike action)

I more or less agree on both points but why should Conductors agree a deal that is inferior to other grades?

ScotRail Industrial Relations issues (including conductor strike action)

He fails to mention the changes to T’s & C’s that will affect Conductors far more than any other grade and potentially change their role completely.

ScotRail Industrial Relations issues (including conductor strike action)

The problem as far as I can see the condition regarding Revenue Protection. This is far too vague and could potentially completely change the role of Conductors. I think what’s on offer is better for other grades than it is for Conductors. I reckon if the part about Revenue Protection was...

ScotRail Industrial Relations issues (including conductor strike action)

It’s a terrible ‘offer’. The conditions attached are unbelievable and were never going to be acceptable to staff particularly Guards. It’s been said it’s like Scotrail are trying to completely change the role of the Guard and are doing it on the cheap. I don’t disagree.

I’d be surprised if mine were checked now!!

How long do Scotrail take to check references?

I started over 6 months ago and haven’t had my references checked yet.

    How to afford to train?

I can only agree with Journeyman. I’m in a Reserve Pool for a Conductor position and would be taking a pay cut equivalent to £10K a year while training, I’ve worked out how to cut back and make it work if I get a job offer. The difference for me is it’s only for approximately 3 months, if I...

    Aberdeen/Inverness conductors

With all the drivers jobs advertised recently the recruitment department will be really busy just now which may explain why so many people are still awaiting replies on their driver application. I’d imagine the above jobs will only make recruitment department even busier. I’m currently in a...

    Scotrail Trainee Drivers (Ongoing)

I see Scotrail have announced a recruitment drive for 100 frontline staff (Drivers, Conductors and Ticket Examiners). Will be interesting to see what areas this is for and if the drivers vacancies will be in addition to those recently advertised.

    Scotrail Trainee Drivers (Ongoing)

It basically takes as long as it takes which isn't much comfort to those who have applied and haven't heard anything yet. I applied for a Conductors job last year well before the closing date and didn't hear anything for a month before receiving an email inviting me to the Assessment Centre...

Pretty sure it means you would (if your application is shortlisted) sit one assessment then if you pass that you would sit a 2nd (different) assessment.
