    Leuchars to Ash

Should do because there's no bridge anymore =D Actually it might not be called plat 2, because theres a bay, not that I've ever seen it used.

    Leuchars to Ash

Yep indeed it went over the King Edward Bridge, and the GC route at Northallerton. South bound we took the Plat 2 side at Hartlepool which I can imagine is pretty rare.

Thanks for the heads up. I've just read the whole thing and think it's a very honest account of where they are and good to hear the points he aims to improve.

    Leuchars to Ash

Thanks everyone. I can't stand internal flights, much prefer getting on a train and getting some work done (hence east coast internet :D ). I've a meeting in Ash on Sunday morning, and really need to be back at Leuchars in time for work on Monday. The reason I asked about east/west coast is...

    Leuchars to Ash

I did this last year and travelled out down the West Coast, and back up the East (with a break of journey). Would an Off Peak Return be valid on both routes for Sat/Sun this coming weekend? This time I'm not looking to do a break of journey though, want to get right back to Leuchars on the...

Declassified first class is on the Sunderland end of the SUN-KGX this morning (sat in it :D now). There's two coach B's on this set, one relabeled 'C'. Its a no go though, wifi doesnt work :D (I had seat reserved in it).

Just had a bit of news that will see me needing to travel Hartlepool - Kings Cross in a couple of weeks. Need to get the Saturday morning, and probably the midday on Sunday home. What I still dont understand is when peak and off-peak come into force. Would the Saturday morning be a peak fare...

I thought that, but nationalrail.co.uk showed nothing after the 11:27 departure, and the 'awaiting a report from x'. Regarding where the set goes between runs, I thought someone posted that they sat in sidings at Pelaw. Would brimed fuel not get a set KGX - SUN and back?

The 11:27 from kings cross disappeared again yesterday, no reports north of Doncaster if I remember correctly. But the 17:30 from Sunderland ran.

The 8:04 from King Cross left on time but never made it to York this morning. Did the 16:50 run tonight? Anyone know what the problem was?

Wish I could remember now! Think it was tucked away on the ORR website somewhere that was linked to off another site. If I find it again....! --- old post above --- --- new post below --- Ignore me it wasn't ORR (but I did read some stuff on there recently... hmm, off to try and dig out what...

Here's to hoping for a good week, 80 & 123 continue in the same vain as yesterday (minus the oil!), and two PC's and a new website immerge from Brush! Or am I dreaming!! :) Someone told me it was a problem with a lack of availability of parts at Brush which was holding things up? Website...

Looks like the HST set is making its way out of Heaton, I've just past it. Saw #80 on the back, didnt see the front. There's also a PC and a coach standing out at Heaton.

    GC vs NXEC

Certainly not this ticket barrier/check business, which to me might be annoying for the person who transferred TPE to GC, but really doesnt matter in the grand scheme of things:roll::-|

    GC vs NXEC

I dont want to get into the 'GC vs NXEC' debate, but I read this last night which may be of interest... http://www.rail-reg.gov.uk/upload/pdf/s22-Grand_Central_7sa_GC_cmnts.pdf

I'm not sure I fully grasp all this talk of revenue abstraction and GC on 'raids' of other peoples money. The way I see it, if GC provide x number of seats between two stations they fully deserve a proportion of the money. I don't see the issue that GC are 'taking' NXEC, TPE or Northerns...
