    Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Bus News

RED and BLUE route on the Peak Sightseer sounds like a good improvement on last year. Just looked on bustimes, it appears some X17s will be diverted via Matlock Farm Park, they have been running a campaign for a bus to go by them for some time now so I am sure they will be pleased and...

    Hulley's of Baslow

The Ingoldmells service was surprisingly well used and as quick as the train from Chesterfield.

Is the 58 Macclesfield-Buxton the perfect bus route?

Whenever I catch it, this is the case. Majority of people travel end to end on this route, although you do get hikers and people using it locally in Buxton and Macclesfield but usually these passengers are by far the minority.

    Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Bus News

Press release from Chesterfield Borough Council today that to me doesnt actually announce anything new from last year. Whilst the 65 is a nice route, I wouldnt quite explain it as per quoted and I was hopeful the Peak Sightseer might go a little deeper into the Peak District this year assuming...

    Hulley's of Baslow

Absolutely agree, I saw both morning Peak Sightseers from my office window in Chesterfield today and they both had a good load on the top deck, bearing in mind we are on a midweek day at the back end of September, I would call that a continuing success. Why someone in Stagecoach marketing or...

Blimey! That Stagecoach update re the Service 90 has really hurt my head and I might have read it incorrectly but is the no5 actually now running at 62 minutes past the hour, not clock face hourly? Might be wrong on that Either way it looks like Stagecoach are losing interest West of...

    Hulley's of Baslow

I am probably most certainly off the mark but has anyone else spotted that the old severn trent water works offices by the side of Tapton Bridge in Chesterfield has now become a rent a space for your bus? Theres currently a notts and derbys double decker there and surely this site would suit...

    Hulley's of Baslow

I also witnessed this on Friday, the Breezer open top bus was on the 170 but the Breezer bus route was on a normal Double Decker. Apparently theres been a fault with the open top bus

    Stagecoach Yorkshire and Chesterfield

Observed both the 1205/1307 X17 extensions from Matlock onwards yesterday, the 1205 didnt have a spare seat and the 1307 was well over three quarters full, both double deckers. I am not sure if there was an event on anywhere or if it was just the nice weather but I assume Matlock Bath would have...

Breezer Open Top Bus is currently out and about today on the 170. Shame I am sat with the work computer for the next few hours.

Got quite the shock when this went past me in Chesterfield today. It was going towards Baslow/Bakewell around 4.30pm

    Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Bus News

On the whole I think the announcements re the Wayfarer and new bus routes sound really good but I hope there is something in the budget for the upgrade of bus stop information. There are numerous bus stops across the routes mentioned even in Chesterfield Town Centre that display bus numbers and...

    East Midlands Railway overcrowding issues

I usually avoid Matlock Bath on an Easter weekend but I was there on Saturday. Never seen it so busy in years, I dont think there was one car parking space left after 1pm and all trains were absolutely rammed.

Snow depths are the deepest I have seen them for a few years around here but with the clear blue skys we have today its been brilliant walking weather..as long as you dont mind bumping into the odd 6ft snow drift or two! There was no way Hulleys could provide a full service today but they have tried

There has been a Hulleys of Baslow open top double decker running around Chesterfield today showing "Not In Service". Anyone know what the plans are here? New summer service?

Fire near the tracks at Sheepbridge (Chesterfield) 13/02/23

I had Railcam on most of yesterday 6Z26 was on time at 0939 but went old road way round. I am assuming that a path couldn't be found via Sheffield or the loco wasnt cleared and that it was stabled somewhere like Barrow Hill as it came back into Chesterfield Platform 3 at lunchtime. The...

£2 Price Cap on fares in England - Now extended beyond October 2023

Happy to have been proved wrong on this comment re the digital signs. The £2 fare now appears to be advertised very clearly on all of these signs into Chesterfield since the start of this week, additionally external advertising on buses is starting to appear. Better late than never!

£2 Price Cap on fares in England - Now extended beyond October 2023

This isnt aimed at you personally 820KDV at all but I dont understand the local government approach that you have shared. We have digital signs on most major dual carriageways/A roads into town at the cost of tax payers in our instance that basically tell you how many car parking spaces are...

£2 Price Cap on fares in England - Now extended beyond October 2023

All the live departure boards in Chesterfield are advertising the £2 fare but compared to other towns our size such as Mansfield we dont have that many live departure boards here, the local paper Derbyshire Times also ran a news article about this. However, knowledge amongst most people I know...

£2 Price Cap on fares in England - Now extended beyond October 2023

Not sure how the £2 fare is going to have a long term benefit at all, although I hope to be proved wrong. Locally to me I received an email from Stagecoach to state their standard day, weekly etc tickets are being increased from 2nd January just as the £2 fare commences. Most day tickets will...
