TPE - Trainee Driver - York & Manchester Piccadilly (05/08/23)

Anyone else had to reschedule their stage 2 assessments?

EMR - Trainee Depot Driver - Nottingham & Derby (04/01/23)

Thanks to @Flipflopkebab and @Busyboy89 for their insights into becoming a Lincoln driver. Wish I had maybe looked into this somewhat earlier.

EMR - Trainee Depot Driver - Nottingham & Derby (04/01/23)

I can see where the teamwork element would come into play and EMR clearly need to home in on those skills. I suspect my enhanced passes are just about to run out, most of them. 1673909943 Got a reply from EMR HR today, there is definitely no propsect of relocating for this particular role, you...

EMR - Trainee Depot Driver - Nottingham & Derby (04/01/23)

I see there are two extra stages which are nothing to do with the OPC assessments, possibly group assessments. I think someone mentioned the RAAT test which I have passed twice now for guard assessments with other companies. Not entirely sure if EMR require their candidates to pass the OPC...

EMR - Trainee Depot Driver - Nottingham & Derby (04/01/23)

I sent an email off to EMR HR posing the same question. This was a few days ago now and I had no response which does not inspire me to work for the company. My girffriend persuaded me to apply so I just registered online tonight. It was actually one of the five screening questions where they ask...

    SWR Guard Interview

I think there will be some variation depending on if you are an internal. I am still serving my six month ban from my failed guards' interview. I cannot remember any problem solving questions as such but I know the question on customer service had a bit of a twist to it. Expect to have to deal...

    RO2 job role

Basically, there have been one or two times where I have been caught on the hop and I have not been able to answer the question in the interview situation. Having returned home and reviewed the situation, I am left thinking, I could have answered that quite easily, such is the benefit of...

    RO2 job role

Not entirely sure I agree with you. It is always quite easy to be caught out by what seems like a trick question at the time, which, in retrospect, you could have answered quite easily, had you been expecting the question.

    SWR Guards Recruitment 2021

Thanks bud. Ought to know that station being on one of my prospective routes. 15 more to go?

    SWR Guards Recruitment 2021

Is it possible you have got this thread mixed up with GWR? You may not be the first.

    SWR - Metro Guard - Wimbledon & Woking (29/01/22)

Sounds like you could crack it next time. Are you from a customer services background at the moment?

    SWR - Metro Guard - Wimbledon & Woking (29/01/22)

Amazing coincidence, so was I. Have you requested feedback? A few more negatives than positives in my case?

Crosscountry - Apprentice Drivers - Multiple Depots (12/01/22)

Tried Freightliner too, almost a decade ago. Who knows, but thank you.

Crosscountry - Apprentice Drivers - Multiple Depots (12/01/22)

I logged in yesterday and it said End of Process. No rejection emails as such so their Cross Country HR are not exactly competing for employer of the year.

Metro Guard vs Commercial Guard SWR

I am not an SWR employee but from what I know, Woking metro guards sign Portsmouth Direct and I would expect the traction to still be the 444/450 Desiro stock. The 701 Arterios are replacements for the 455, 456, 458 and 707 stock used on suburban routes.

    Use of Risk Triggered Commentary?

At least your passengers can be assured you are fully awake. My dad was a bus driver too. Not quite sure about his risk triggered commentary but it might have contained the odd interjection on occasion.

    SWR - Metro Guard - Wimbledon & Woking (29/01/22)

Thanks for the explanation. Sounds like a clever way of utilising man power. Saves a Guildford guard or a Southampton guard having to get up at 1:30am if someone is already half way through their shift although I was thinking that there are no guards based at Southampton. Does make sense about...

    CBI vs MMI

Avanti might be worth a call too just to seek clarification, I have never got any further than the paper sift with Avanti. Driver CBI and MMI both cover the same general areas however, such as rules, training, emergencies, etc. If you failed the structured interview with one operator, you would...

    Use of Risk Triggered Commentary?

I took part in a course on Advanced Driving with the Institute of Advanced Motorists where I would give a commentary but I suspect that was more commentary driving, talking about such things as the weather and the surface of the road, although there was a certain element of risk triggered...
