Stress of being a Train Driver

With regards to being contacted when off duty, it's quite simple, don't give them your personal number and turn off your work phone when you finish duty and don't turn it back on until you start your next shift. That's what I do.

Stress of being a Train Driver

You drive 4000 ton stone trains? ;)

Stress of being a Train Driver

Stress? what stress? Train driving certainly beats working for a living. I've never had more time off, or worked fewer hours per week in all my working life.

Poll: Potential General Election: who are you voting for?

Very well put, I couldn't agree more.

EU Referendum: The result and aftermath...

Maybe I'm just one of the millions of stupid people that didn't know what they were doing.

EU Referendum: The result and aftermath...

    I don't recall insulting anyone.

EU Referendum: The result and aftermath...

Not the sole reason but one of the reasons that many people voted to leave.

EU Referendum: The result and aftermath...

That may well be, and I stand to be corrected on this, but don't they have to accept certain rules/conditions from the EU to be able to do so?

EU Referendum: The result and aftermath...

But that wouldn't be leaving would it.

EU Referendum: The result and aftermath...

Yes, the result was clearly in favour of leaving the EU. I can only speak for myself but I voted to leave the EU and I'm not bothered if we leave without a "deal", just as long as we leave.

EU Referendum: The result and aftermath...

The difference here being that people are trying to overturn the result of the referendum before it's been implemented , nothing like a general election where you have the chance to vote for a change after several years of the result of the previous election being implemented.

EU Referendum: The result and aftermath...

When people don't like the result of the vote and want you to keep voting until they get the result that they want.

EU Referendum: The result and aftermath...

I think Clarkson would make an excellent PM.

Poll: Potential General Election: who are you voting for?

You're not alone. Although if a General Election was announced now I would find it difficult to choose between them and the Brexit Party. I'm a member of a trade union, but I absolutely detest Labour so I try not to think about my sub's ending up in their coffers.

EU Referendum: The result and aftermath...

Reading this makes you wonder how we ever survived in the hundreds of years before the EU.

    59003 loaned to Freightliner

It's been buzzing around Westbury all day today with a cab full of drivers.

EU Referendum: The result and aftermath...

No, it didn't. I don't believe I said that it did, that's why I put the word "if" at the beginning of the sentence.

EU Referendum: The result and aftermath...

I really don't think it would make any difference. I think that 99% of the people that voted leave would still vote the same way again. It does annoy me when remoaners say "you didn't know what you were voting for" Yes I did, I voted to leave the EU, whatever it takes.

EU Referendum: The result and aftermath...

I voted to leave the EU, simple as that, whatever it takes. If the question on the ballot paper had said "would you still be prepared to leave with "no deal" I would still have voted to leave.
