Unfortunately not! But good valuable win today. Should be safe now?

    Arriva rail London trainee drivers

There are more younger drivers coming through now compared to even when I started 13 years ago. Most used to be early to mid 30’s, and a few older. Now there are definitely more younger drivers being employed. Makes sense, as the company pay a lot to train new drivers, so in theory, get more...

Oi! That’s enough of that! We are great at Watford! Well most of us anyway.

At least you are both still going to be paid. Make the most of the extra week off. Good luck and be nice to my lad!! He is only a baby at 23!

    Arriva rail London trainee drivers

@Relebo & @Alexb95 did you get the email this morning? My son got one to say it’s been put back a week to the 20th. But of course they will still start paying you from 13th! He’s ok with it as just means he gets another week off, but on his new money. They have split the 8 starters into 2...

    Arriva rail London trainee drivers

Did you check your salary in it? Our HR were adamant they were correct and I was wrong when I pointed it out! It was only after I sent them a copy of THEIR April 2020 notice giving the new figures along side the ASLEF company council one, that they admitted it was wrong! Lol! They sent him an...

Congrats to all the soon to be trainees. My son is starting his course on the 13th July. He received his offer letter and contract a few weeks ago. He actually left his job last Friday, taking 2 weeks owed leave before he starts with ARL. If you have received your contract by email, check...

    Arriva rail London trainee drivers

Hi all. My son received an email end of last week saying that his course has now been moved to 13th July, although that’s still provisional. We had already anticipated it not starting on 22nd June anyway. But they did send him his offer of employment letter and his contract! He’s happy that he...

OPC is the company a lot of TOC’s & FOC’s use for the psychometric tests and modular interview. Not sure if they have other branches, but they have one in Watford.

My son passed with Freightliner in December 2019. He has heard nothing since the email from them saying 'we will contact re your DM interview'. So been applying for every job since.

Same course! He was originally told start of June. As I said to him, you have a date to work to now. It may not be then, but it is something. Good luck.

    Arriva rail London trainee drivers

Morning all. My son just received an email saying they have a course planned to start on 22nd June. And he will be on it if it goes ahead. Obviously dependant on the current situation. But at least it’s a date!

Railway Staff on here: Have your company given you assurances on how to deal with the Coronavirus

We are getting a daily update this week from the HR director. Not a huge amount of info. Most of it is cut and paste from previous days. One paragraph shows staff currently self isolating, and how many confirmed cases of COVID, thankfully 0 (zero) so far. Hand wipes and sanitizer gel have been...

    Freightliner Various Trainee Drivers

My son passed both assessments in mid December (he applied for Tilbury), still waiting a DMI.

I take it you haven’t read any further in the thread? I explained what I meant immediately.

    Freightliner Various Trainee Drivers

Thanks, I didn’t mean to annoy anyone, honestly!! It’s true what you said about platform staff. Our lines multi stop if no one is familiar with them) have less and less platform staff now. Some of the busier stations are still manned. But most not. And as we are only DOO, it makes it very hard...

That would be a bit easier for him. Thanks

    Freightliner Various Trainee Drivers

Oh really? That far? Lets see what happens when he gets the date. Wherever it is, both he and I are extremely pleased he’s got to this stage.

    Freightliner Various Trainee Drivers

I think you took it too literally, I honestly didn’t mean anything by it, but I should have been more specific! On our lines, more the Watford to Euston DC, the uniformed platform staff were ‘moved’ to other roles, and now in their place are agency suicide watch staff (whatever than means?)...

    Freightliner Various Trainee Drivers

Thanks. Do they ever interview anywhere apart from Crewe? Would be easier for him to get the train if it is there as it’s just under a 200 miles drive for him. Plus he would be more relaxed sitting on the train.
