    Planning a trip to Ireland

I agree that you don't want to be doing the walk from Belfast port into the city centre. Apart from taxis, there is the Translink metro 96 bus, but do check the online timetable as it is a limited service.

    Employee/Work Shuttles

In Durham, the first two 265 journeys out of Durham call at Belmont Business Park (handy not only for workplaces there but also for collecting parcels from the Royal Mail delivery office), and two late afternoon 208s call there on their way into Durham.

Bus routes which prior to Covid were likely to have been withdrawn

The final withdrawal date for the 23 was 28th September 2020 but, as you say, its problems began pre-covid.

DIY ticket splitting Hairmyres to Broughty Ferry

Trainsplit suggests splitting at Stirling, rather than Glasgow, to save another 90p. It also offers through Advances for considerably less.

Foreign cards on on Osyter/contactless readers.

I used my UK contactless cards on buses/trams in Vienna and Prague this summer without any difficulty, but the systems were not the same as London since in both cases I was effectively buying a ticket from an onboard ticket machine.

    Unable to buy ticket

I'd buy from the guard and then either go to the ticket office on arrival in London to exchange the paper ticket for a cardboard one, or present my paper ticket at the underground gateline and ask staff there to open the gates for me.

Loco2 rebranding as Rail Europe from 6 November 2019

I had an email today about this from Loco2 - I think I had forgotten that Loco2, as well as Rail Europe, is nowadays part of the SNCF empire.

    Nova Scotia Bridge/Sidings

This link suggests that the NS bridge was near Market Rasen, but I have no personal knowledge that enables me to vouch for the accuracy of this: https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/3554716 But here's an OS map link (c.1905 from amazing National Library of Scotland site)...

£81 Kings X to Hull Advance (i.e. booked train only) ticket on LNER's 1718 through service arriving 2005 (i.e. 9 minutes later than the connection from the 1703). Or £54 Advance on the 1848 Hull Trains departure arriving 2118. On the 23rd, £26.75 Hull to Birmingham Advance on the 1727 changing...

Crianlarich to Oban, then Isle of Mull

I see the problem with buying these tickets online. Although Scotrail has Craignure (CRU) in its initial dropdown list of stations, that station isn't recognised at the next stage of its journey planner. And unfortunately the CalMac railsail ticket page transfers you to Scotrail for the actual...

Is 41 minutes enough to get from East Croydon NR to Beckenham Junction NR?

To save time at East Croydon, in a train coming from the south coast I would be in the rear coach of a 4-coach train, the rear or next coach of an 8-coach train, and about the third coach from the rear if it's a 12-coach train.

Fare not available on some booking sites [POO - BRI]

When I look for Poole-Bristol journeys on the Trainline, and check the details of the journeys via Southampton and Salisbury, it seems that the calling points for the Southampton-Bristol leg have not been loaded. Maybe because of that their planner cannot tell that those trains go via Salisbury...
