    Greggs in Manchester Victoria.

My poor son last week was coming to an event with us at the arena last week (young voices to watch his brother) and due to an afterschool detention, didn’t get home till after we needed to leave so we had no time for a maccies for him on the way (he’s 11 so no judgement over the maccies!)...

Rail line not far from front of house but only two small trains an hour

We used to live on greenall road in Northwich which is a similar kind of set up but has a few more freight trains. There was a road, then a fence which led to the tracks. In the words of my partner after living there about 3 years (when explaining to someone what it was like to live near a...

Northwich Station Roof Collapse - 18/05/2021

My child and I were outside when it happened - just about to go inside to purchase tickets to go and feed the ducks at the Heath in knutsford as our usual patch down by the river has a closed path currently. There were 3 people on the platform - all ok. The noise was something else - made worse...

Two sides of Northwich cut-off by road so train provides lifeline

I meant not necessary with regard to the flooding situation. I agree it does need increasing but that’s an issue for another time! 1611415612 Opened again within the last hour

Local rag reports line closed due to slurry, reality wildly different.

The police were using the farmers and tractors as part of there pumping efforts yesterday which suggests that someone most certainly knew what they were doing. If not network rail then someone else.

Two sides of Northwich cut-off by road so train provides lifeline

Bridges due to reopen some point during Monday so not necessary. I’m nipping Tesco for essentials shortly. If using the train works ok, it might become a normal thing for me instead of the trek to Asda and back!

Local rag reports line closed due to slurry, reality wildly different.

These farmers saved our town. They are still there now. They wernt asked to, they just did it. Some of them were there over 25 hours straight pumping the water, saving houses and businesses. They claim network rail told them but I and many other suspect Cheshire west and Chester council may have...

Two sides of Northwich cut-off by road so train provides lifeline

I live in greenbank. The bridges are closed because the high st and London road were flooded and impassable. You can still acsess town from the other side via rudheath and the a556 but all those roads have been absolutely heaving all day as the a556 has major roadworks on at the roberts bakery...

Will you be eating out to help out?

Will give this a go this week. The children love eating out (and I love the stress free meal times!)

Will you be eating out to help out?

No we won’t be. We have yet to find somewhere who will take our booking as a single household family of 8.

One-way systems - good and bad

My local germ breeding site (soft play centre) reopens on Tuesday and one of the rules they are introducing is a one way round the play frame rule. Would love to be a fly on the wall to see how that’s going to work!

Advice on buying property relatively close to tracks

We were offered a council house on the greenbank estate about 100 metres from greenbank station. We sleep with windows open and go to bed early and not once has the freight woke us. We lived in another house a few years ago which was even closer to the mid Cheshire line just outside northwich...

How much longer will social distancing go on for in the UK?

My little boy met up with his best friend today (he’s 6). He hasn’t seen her since 16th March. They have a very close, special friendship and this has been extremely difficult for both of them. They couldn’t cope with video calls and both sets of parents have dealt with questions such as “what...

Boris Johnson Announcement Discussion - 10/05/20

Was looking at pictures from one online celebrating VE Day on Friday, 7-8 kids all in a huddle with 4 members of staff all huddled in too posing for a camera. My lad can’t go back anyway, his brother has mobility problems. He manages the walk one way once a day (spends most of his playtimes sat...

Boris Johnson Announcement Discussion - 10/05/20

My honest opinion in all of this is that they need to forget about social distancing for the younger children. Older juniors and adults in the school setting yes, younger ones no. Nurseries aren’t socially distancing with the kids at the moment and nothing much is Happening because of it. My...

    Landslip Weaver Junction

Cannot tell you how relieved I am! My train from winsford to Liverpool is currently expected at 10:08 as opposed to 10:07. Majorly relieved that one element of stress has been removed from what is going be to an already stressful day!

Woman asked to give up seat on train for child.

Winds me up this sort of stuff does. My 7 year old suffers from hypermobility and low muscle tone and very often finds standing painful. He would be mortified if I asked someone to give up their seat for him! In fact he’s normally the first up and offering his seat if we’re on busy public transport
