The Railway Touring Company - "The Cumbrian Coast Express" - Saturday 24 September 2022

On the train…. Wonderful journey, the Cumbrian Coast line is breathtaking especially as the visibility both inland to the Lake District & out to sea viewing the Isle of Man was so good, I think I prefer the route to Settle Carlisle and that’s saying something. Very few excursions over this...

Wonder if anyone could tell me how manufacturers get on with copying liveries of train operators and other brands applied to rolling stock etc? Heaton Lodge Junction: Britain’s Biggest Model Railway

Visited Monday on the train from London. Totally lost for words ...... how something can be this good I almost can't believe it. The layout is stunning and the locomotives with sound and weathering condition just have to be seen to be believed. Intended to stay an hour, with a break for a...

Pete Waterman layout - Chester Cathedral - worth visiting?

1629316990 Loved it, only thing I found was in such a vast area oo gauge looked like N !! Stayed for about 2 hours, was not busy, and had plenty of time to get up close. I traveled by train from Chelmsford for £67, booked about two weeks in advance, £100 seems a bit steep!! Would recomend

3rd Rail corrosion - Durrington on Sea

As others have said, let Network Rail know. They will send someone out to check. When I have reported what I thought was an issue (unrelated to third rail!) I received confirmation back within an hour that someone had checked (in my case, it was OK after all). ...they can do their own work...

3rd Rail corrosion - Durrington on Sea

Posted a picture about 2-3 years ago and published on the forum then. Used the south coast station today, noted the corrosion had got worse. It must run for 10 feet with just thin metal keeping it in place. I just enjoy trains with no real knowledge so ask the following : Only ever seen this...
