Class 01 diesel shunters on Holyhead breakwater.

Not correct,I'm afraid. Both locos still existed in 1981 when I photographed them inside the shed. I understand that they were cut up on site in February 1982.

How unusual is it to not have or watch television?

A bit like not owning a hi fi set up,and listening to music on a phone,I imagine. Always forget that it's possible to watch tv via the internet.

How unusual is it to not have or watch television?

Meeting up with a friend today,we were discussing an incident from last year that I'd almost forgotten. Myself and two friends were in our local, chatting to a couple (probably in their late 40s),when the woman asked what tv comedy we thought was the best of all time. When we replied that none...

Time to abolish 1p and 2p coins?

Speaking as someone who only uses cash (don't have any cards at all),I would like to see the retention of the small coinage. The 1 and 2p coins I put into the charity boxes in my local pub probably amount to quite a sum over the course of a year, although I would most likely still do it if the...

    TV Licensing

Don't have a mobile,so that's no problem, and my PC doesn't have sound. I've never even tried to get a tv program with the PC - might give it a go to see if it works.

    TV Licensing

I've never owned a tv set,but I estimate I get several letters a year (and have done for maybe the last 40 years or so) asking why I don't have a licence. They all go in the bin. Never had a visit from anyone asking to have a look.

    Favourite comedy sketch/show

I've never owned a television so am unfamiliar with most of the shows mentioned. However, when it comes to radio,I have a fondness for "Around The Horne",and I enjoyed "The Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy".
