As my user name says I know Redon Station well although I no longer live in France.
I have experienced connections not being held there even when it was the last TER train of the day causing some pretty angry passengers.
It is likely that it will not be a cross platform change either so down...
Take this morning at Leominster but every day it's like this :
Southbound - 06:21 dep 07:08, 06:49 cancelled, 07:28 dep 07:40, 08:44 doesn't stop, passed 09:07, 09:26 dep 09:32, 09:54 dep 10:03
Northbound - 07:03 dep 07:11, 11:08 cancelled.
The Wolsztyn Experience was never responsible for the operation of the steam service. They did provide a substantial financial input but this has declined over the years to the point now where, since the sad demise of Howard Jones, it will cease.
Financial provision has, for some time, come from...
None of that is going to be of much consolation to people who can't get to college or work or may have important journeys.
Given Network Rail's late notification that the work was taking place (for which they have had to apologise) , the failure of Tfw to post the replacement bus timetable and...
The Dinmore Tunnel enginerring works have overun. As a result there are no trains or replacement buses (save the handful planned Leominster - Shrewsbury) today. Leominster, Ludlow, Craven Arms and Church Stretton Stations have effectively been abandoned for the day. Leominster has a large number...
On Monday a colleague and myself had reserved seats on IC 142 Berlin to Amsterdam, 14:34 ex Berlin. We arrived on the platform to find that the train was not on the board. A member of platform staff said that the train had left early! We went quickly to the information desk and asked for an...
I had a claim for a 60 plus minutes delay which they promised to respond to in 10 working days. In fact they took 28 working days to approve it and the money is still not in my bank account.
I was in Wolsztyn a few weeks ago for 10 days.
The present situation is that there is one serviceable loco Ol49 69. Ol49 59 is expected back from overhaul but its return is delayed. Pt47 65 is out of ticket and is awaiting overhaul.
There are two steam hauled turns Monday to Friday to Leszno...
Just had a look at the information for my local station - Leominster.
There are different times given for the opening of the ticket office and for Information despite them being one and the same and both are wrong.
There is contradictory information about buying tickets from a machine with this...
I did this run in the reverse direction about a year ago. If what happens east bound is what happened westbound the train will arrive at Ljubljana with two fairly tatty looking graffiti covered Serbian coaches on the front, then some other coaches, then the sleepers. The sleepers come off at...
I travelled Paddington to Hereford a few evenings ago on The Cathedrals Express. With 15 stops en route it hardly falls into the category of an express.
I was on the northbound train which was indeed terminated at Crewe. It was getting on for 50 minutes late at Leominster, where I got on, due to a bridge strike which was, I think, somewhere north of Cwmbran. Interestingly the guard made multiple announcements that everyone delayed should make...
Yes. Certainly have to print off any tickets you can buy on the CFR website. As LNW -GW Joint says it is a bit quirky but I had no real problems with it. It's not possible to buy tickets on line for more local trains but I had no difficulty at ticket offices even at out of the way places.
Regio...
The ticket is actually Bristol Parkway to London with a Travelcard add on bought at 06:14 on the day of travel. The story says he didn't buy the ticket so how is it The BBC can show a picture of it?
The gates on both sides are closed against the train. If I remember the procedure correctly (in both directions) the fireman gets out and opens both gates. He then stands by the road, signals the loco forwards if there is no road traffic, until the loco reaches him and then gets back on the...
Travel on The Metro, trams and buses in Budapest is free for over 65's. I believe this facility covers EU citizens only. You need your passport with you at all times when thus travelling and may well be asked to show it at gates into The Metro or indeed by inspectors on trams or when getting on...
