As we passed LNWR Crewe yesterday headiing to Derby 197117 was seen on the depot.

Trains to Liverpool at that time are every 30 minutes so if you booked a ticket from your start point to Liverpool South Parkway you would likely have been told that your connecting train at Sheffield was the TPE service at 1809, not the EMR service at 1744.

You failed to mention thw NEW platform extensions for 8 car 777 trains to Platforms 2 AND 3. I think that the entrance from the concourse into M & S was closed when the barriers were moved to accommodate the platform extensions.
